Especially egregious when they lock several fan favorite characters behind paid dlc and updates. Nothing better than having to wait 2+ years for your favorite character to get in only for them to come out broken, and then get nerfed.
At least we don't have to pay as much (or at all) to keep playing with a base roster character before DLC. BBCS was my first real fighting game, and when CS2 dropped I was annoyed at having to pay again to get the balance update, same with SF4.
