In retrospect, the plots are a mess, the worst, toxic kind of dark fantasy literature slop, most interesting enemies are just stolen from other properties, and the characters are shitttier gayer versions of tropes done a billion times better in other ips. The only thing that makes it different is the hack "hardcore" gameplay and implied hardcore fetishes. That's it.

Daan and Karen are the only unironically good parts of the second game. I am honestly suprised Miro allowed this dynamic, given his apparent distaste for women unless they are male in some way. No wonder he didn't develop it into anything further in the story. Better focus on that agp coomer fantasy subplot for himself and his buddies.

In the original version Lyle was not portrayed very positively, so.it was initially surprising. Later versions upped the faggotry.

I feel like any enjoyment in the franchise is either liking how violent it is (which is the main selling point, especially as it isn't regarded as porn, despite 100% being gore porn), or sunk cost fallacy of "I wasted so much time watching videos about the game, it can't possibly be meaningless gore porn".
