Fallout series

I think my biggest worry about this new obsidian fallout is Bethesda wanting them to have it set on the west coast just so they can truly get a Bethesda "post apocalypse forever" fallout set directly in California over just having the tv show go "oh yeah the ncr fell and shady sands got glassed". They know the show lore is unpopular and know that fans of fallout can easily just ignore since its only impact on the games so far is the ghoul existing in 76 so having a game set in california that shows the after math of the shady nuke is something they would do to reaffirm their control of the ip.
I have no faith in modern obsidian regardless of Sawyer being in charge or even if they got literally every credited name on fallout 1,2 and new vegas to work on it to make a good fallout game
Honestly, a good video game is probably the only thing that could salvage the Shady Sands thing because it'd be able to actually talk about the political ramifications. After all, Shady Sands wasn't even the biggest or most advanced city in the NCR and I'd have to assume that the northern cities and the Hub would thrive upon regaining their independence, but smaller towns would likely be resigned to suffering and have to turn to raiding to survive. That's all stuff the TV show can't touch on without going on a bizarre tangent that could make for an interesting story. And even within the show, we're shown two groups claiming to be the successor to the NCR, but neither seems to truly embody the values of the true NCR. There's actually potential with the hand the show dealt them that the show simply cannot fulfill because it's for normies and bad.

I'm not saying they should shrug and decline to switch off im saying that if i was having more fun and enjoying my time working on avowed 2 then told to switch over to the new fallout i would not put the same quality into my work as i did avowed 2.

Only the CEO does, Asha was born in Wisconsin and seemingly has no actual ties back to india besides race

Literally every CRPG lists final fantasy and dragon quest as inspiration and in turn Wizardry and Ultima are listed as inspiration for final fantasy and dragon quest stop being retarded
Race is arguably the biggest unifier of culture. I have more in common with a liberal white woman or a cousin fucker from alabama than I do a conservative black man who wants TTD.
Why? If one autistic guy's Earthbound clone beats the entire industry by itself then it's on you.

Undertale is a better RPG than most western "RPGs".
Undertale convinced studios that faggots are the biggest demographic for RPGs. That alone is something he should hang for.

It really isn't and shows your shallow understanding of culture if you think so lol
it is not surprising seeing a pink dorito agreeing with a literal suicidal traitorous whore or a drooling retard rather than someone who wants the total death of a tribe that may wish harm upon them if they call them sir instead of ma'am.

it's not rocket science, if we share similar ideals we cool, if we don't, get ye gone to a shithole your crap ideals exist, race matters little because traitors yadda yadda...

So all you're going to get is a game as woke and unappealing as all modern Obsidian titles, only even more unfinished and buggy than their previous games

I got hoodwinked by the first Outer Worlds and after I finished the game all I could think is that Obsidian of yore that made my favorite games was long gone. Whatever fallout project that comes out from them is going to suck ass

I remember people gigacoping that OW1 would have been good if it had a proper budget which at first seemed somewhat plausible because there just stops being new content after planet one but then OW2 came out which did have a big budget and it was even more gay and cringe.

The problems of OW1 weren't budget, it's the game is mechanically a 5/10 experience with lackluster rewards, no real feeling of builds mattering and most importantly of all the writing. The writing is for the Rick and Morty type redditor that made me unreasonably angry.

Gamedev is creative work and they're supposed to work on the next Fallout, not toil in the Call of Duty mines. You can't really switch gears like you could with, say, transferring chemists from one production line to a new one where they'll be cooking aspirin instead of vitamin C.
I mean you can if you go with the lowest common denominator that is smartphone gaming. Anyone here wants Fallout: Mobile?
I generally agree, you’re going to maybe lose something, maybe lose a lot - but, you said they’re game developers. Their job is to develop and make games - they are not avowed2-developers, where they can only work on avowed 2.

If they have any worthwhile skills (I know, I know), they must be able to switch gears like your chemist example - the leads can be the lore experts, and give the direction, or whatever, but if you as a game dev cannot join a project and contribute, even if it’s not your greatest passion in life, you’re not a game dev.

I do agree it’s not the ideal choice though - but it seems like the studio passion project days are long past. I wouldn’t bet on this new game being very good, but then I wouldn’t bet on that if Bethesda were making it either

I tried to kill Pickle Rick the second after character creation and then got mad that he was behind a force field and unkillable.

Later I found out he's the Yes Man of Outer Worlds in that he allows you to finish the game if your reputation is ruined with all other factions so there is a reason he's essential but still.

Also I'm not on Bluesky because I'm a human being with a pulse so idk if this is real or a joke since I saw it on X, but apparently HR made the remaining employees take down their vigil for laid off coworkers. Can anybody recognize any of those people?

HR doing something good for once.
What the Union did was in bad taste, they were fired not killed.

Didn't Obsidian say they don't want to make any more Fallout and focus on their own games? I guessed Avowed and Outer Worlds failed that hard.
The Indian queen reminded nuObsidian that if they want to exist 50 years from now, they would have to stop making passable and quickly forgotten games and start making good products.

My enjoyment of OW1 came with the conclusion of "i like this, its a good base but a sequel will tell me if this is truly a good series" and then i hear 2 changes literally nothing and i got disappointed

He isn't essential but yeah you can't kill him. You can betray him and turn him into the government tho

True, xbox isn't the place for risks or artistic freedom that's what indies are for now
