I find the writing to be serviceable. Are the localizations really that bad? I heard some of the newer ones are at least, which sucks...

Trails' writing has become such a joke. Kondo is a fucking talentless hack who's so creatively bankrupt, he couldn't even write a satisfying story for Kuro 2 and Kai.

It's funny how Trails was supposed to be good because it had So Many Words (due to incidental NPC dialogue).

I mean worldbuilding is great and all, but like all long-running franchises it will devolve into the usual trend-chasing J-Bullshit.
