lol obscenity
@AnOminous was that during Alberto Gonzalez's tenure where he wasted a bunch of tax payer money going after extreme fetish porn?
Its even more than that. The Supreme Court a long time ago said that the right to vote cannot be burdened or something. One such burden was a poll tax which during Jim Crow was used to keep black people from voting because they didnt have money. Requiring people to pay for a photo ID so they can vote is essentially a poll tax. And guess who that affects the most?
Also the logistics of getting a voter ID as
@Captain Cockpunch said in some cases isnt easy. Its kind of along the same reason black people like early voting. People who work two jobs and have kids dont always have the time to go down to, in some cases, the only fucking place to get a voter ID in the county. Theres also people who can only use public transportation which in many cases is complete shit, may only run at certain times of the day and may cost money (and can also be considered a poll tax). Basically a persons economic status and transportation situation shouldnt prevent them from voting.
Theres also the case of the elderly. If they are ancient enough they may not have been issued a birth certificate or may have lost it due to various reasons including house fires. Some churches will bus entire nursing homes to go get photo IDs for thier tenants.
lol as if Republicans would allow that. Usually Voter ID laws make you show up to a certain place in person. Whether its to suppress votes or they have a legit reason who knows. I personally dont understand how other countries make it so easy to vote yet we have all this in person bullshit.
