1. Pocahontas for obvious reasons to numerous to count.
Lol. Honestly, such a movie cannot be made without many complaints.

2. Hunchback of Notre Dame because you just know Quasimodo will look like the kind of abomination that makes Milly Alcock blush.
To be fair, that is what he is supposed to be. Someone too ugly to be accepted.

3. Princess and the Frog because they will cast a really ugly black woman for the role.
Who looks like she has fetal alcohol syndrome if TLM is anything to go by.

Ugly but not so ugly he isn't endearing. Like Shrek is ugly but hes not so off putting the audience can't empathize with him. Translating that to 3D will give people nightmares because they will not go through any effort to make the character appealing.

I want a Hunchback CGI remake where Quasimodo's hideous deformity is shown via him being designed like a Pixar CalArts character while everyone else has the Tangled art style.

Ignoring that Moana is less than a decade old and I doubt the kids that saw it then have kids of their own yet, this one also had the slight problem of Dwayne having made himself box office poison compared to his old days of being in literally every other goddamn movie.

No one wanted this remake, and even less people want to see Dwayne play Dwayne for the millionth time.
They just need to release more Fast and Furious slop. I honestly thought they would have released one around the time of the World Cup this year cause F&F is a super multicultural Familia (cracks Coronas)

I live my life a quarter mile at a time

Translating the story to any visual medium is hard as it was originally a book and thus he was never too ugly for us to relate. If the adaptation is to be accurate however, he has to be too ugly. It is a tough balance to make him appealing to the audience but easy to understand why he hid himself.

easily mulan'd: red woman saved dumb white man and becomes next chief of tribe. dumb white man cucked.
That was a ceremony to show strangers that they make the rules and that they can choose to kill or spare them. Also, in certain tribes, men run war while women run the government. Basically, men decided strategy and who to fight/ally with while women decided the day to day stuff. So her being a "chief" is hardly revolutionary.

Random, but I found this in regards to a scene from Toy Story 5.
So I don’t know a better thread to post this in but I need to give my piping hot Toy Story 5 take.

If I was to sum it up in one word I would call it “Niggerlicous”

And when I say that I’m not trying to be edgy and say that it acts in an inappropriate or “urban” way. What I mean is almost every single character, (especially every single nice character) is black or some gross mulatto mix.

But none of the characters act like Black people, in fact, every single person acted like the most whitest person to ever live. Even the fully Black people are actually reading books and going camping and doing all those white people things. It’s kinda like a Star Trek future where all the races decided it’s best to act like the white man.

Also, I used to roll my eyes at this, but I have to admit that Black people do have a point when they say that there is a problem when it comes to depicting Black people in animation and video games. Every single black person didn’t look 100% black. They had black skin, but for some reason, they all had white people noses so pretty much every single black person looked Indian and I think the the second protagonist was like a black Indian mix? Which is like the most cursed thing I can think of. But again this half Indian half black kid acted like the most white person on planet earth, even having horses, living on a ranch and both their parents are active in their life..

One less racially charged movie critique I’ll make is that they have definitely bent the knee and doing things more like illusion animation aka minions by having a A and B, where the A Plot is the main story and the B plot is just silly guys being silly to make the babies laugh. Also, they have hyper toned down the sentimentality. Like other Pixar movies try to make the grown-ups in the audience cry, but this time there was quite literally nothing.
I do remember a Disney executive making an off comment saying something like their movie shouldn’t be therapy for their own writers or something and that is definitely shows in this movie where there is really no big swinging “ make you think” moments.

After the movie was over, it came in huge letters that it was edited by “Jenifer Jew” and I burst out laughing and had some very suspect phenotypes give me death stares in the theater as we exited.

I give it 6 watermelons out of 10 fried chicken. I do think it had a good message for kids when it comes to tech and it’s much better than Goy Story 4.

People are mad that they added a projector animatronic to Pirates of the Carribean.
Pirates animatronics have such an iconic style to them so I get the complaint, it does look really over animated and just having a skeleton lying over a massive treasure already perfectly conveyed the message..
pirates.jpg

But whatever I'm an old man who will grumble about all changes that they've damaged the ride with. They ruined the Wife Auction ---- they got rid of the best line "We wants the redhead!"

PotC now stands for Persons Of The Color
but yeah tbh they neutered Pirates a long time ago when they toned down the rape jokes, so I was long past fucks to give by the time they vomited the movies over the ride

but yeah this is still basically the same gimmick as the Buzz from that toy story ride
it's not bad but it's really not that great
maybe it's that I'm just used to creepy robot faces instead of creepy robot projection faces, like how it's unnerving to see the CG remakes of supermarionation stuff then you remember the puppets weren't exactly not-weird either

Why don't they just make an Anansi the spider movie if they want to put black people in movies based on folk tales. Given Anansi's personality, all you need to do really is write a spider version of Eddy from EENE, and you're all set.

This is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of deal. If you depict black people in a "clean" fashion, you're whitewashing them. If you depict black people in a "real" fashion, you're stereotyping. If you simply dodge the issue and do not depict them at all, you're racist.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to give a shit.

From what I'm hearing the new animatronic isn't as bad as people are saying due to it being a fair distance away from the boats. I'll reserve judgement on it until I see it in person but the money put into that pirate could've been put into actually fixing some of the preexisting ones. The real test will be if it's still functioning after a year or two, Tiana's Bayou Adventure has a ton of problems with its animatronics and screens due to them not really being designed with the amount of moisture that the ride has.

Oh, and there are two theories as to why the change was made. The first one is that it's to show off the partnership Disney has with Epic since UE5 is apparently used in the projection tech. The second is that it's a "test" of sorts for tech that's going to be used the new Coco ride (and yes, said ride is going to be a dark water ride like POTC) that's coming to DCA in the next few years.

okay this might be a stretch, but what if, and just as a crazy theory
the breakup behind the scenes wasn't so much the issue for why Roger Rabbit got thrown into the "never again on-screen" pit
but just because he's really fucking obnoxious like Jar Jar tier

I can def believe it looks less-bad at a distance
also really Monsters Unleashed needed to set a fire under Disney's ass and if the mouse sleeps through it they deserve everything they get

Technically half-white but cutting it close. Dunno why she couldn't just have been half american white tho, are there a lot of Armenian ranchers in the US?
Funny because she don't look Bi-racial. thats another thing is that why does Hollywood have an obsession with having Bi-racial girls be black when in reality they also have whiteness as well?
