Mr director sir, she glows for story telling reasons. She glows because that makes her look otherworldly and magical, she glows so you can see her in full body shots of other characters and so that fairy dust is visually coherent. I have no faith on this movie anyway but come on. You should understand these basic styling choices that made her a stand out character and a disney mascot.

These live action remakes/prequels/ect seemingly needing to explain the most mundane of details no one was questioning always annoys the bell out of me.
No one cared who Cruella DeVille got her name, we accepted it because she was the bad guy and wanted to kill puppies. I don’t need a full backstory on how Han Solo got his dice or why Gepetto named a puppet Pinocchio. Fucking stop it.
I am honestly disappointed in this thread for not making even one glow in the dark Nigger joke. Shame on you all.

Just heard about it and saw aftermath images - apparently that animatronic cost $10 million and it's just fucking GONE. Nothing but a burnt-ass bent stick of metal now. It's actually incredible that even though the fire reportedly lasted over four hours, still burning when the park closed at midnight, the ONLY thing that was toast was Murphy the dragon - everything in its viscinity is virtually untouched when this easily could have burned down all of Tom Sawyer Island.
Sadly, because of modern day Disney, they'll likely just replace Murphy with some bullshit fancy screenshow. Because budget cuts.

Question, why do you even still follow this stuff? This is the thing with Disney Park fans, all they do is complain things are going to shit, yet they still follow park developments like it was the evening news. I think you would move on at some point if you hate the company so much. Not that I'm saying they don't deserve it, because yeah they're cheap, stupid and ruin everything they update, but fuck why even care at this point?

I fucking hope that Disney won't manage to lobby a new Mickey Mouse Protection Act this year and by the next year Steamboat Willie becomes public domain, and it will mark the beginning of complete downfall of Disney. Huge fucking

I don't, personally, I gave up on the parks years ago. But I mean...one of the largest animatronics going up in a giant fireball? It's more the schadenfreude at this point with the tailspin Disney is in. They just lost a $10 million dollar robot that was the iconic centerpiece of the nighttime show - how are they going to fix this when they're $5 billion in the hole?

I mean I understand you wanting to laugh at the dumpster fire, but It's going to be a long slide, dude. It's like waiting for GM to fail or something. Sure they were driven into the ground by retards multiple times, but they're too big to fail pretty much due to being a default American brand. You'll be watching this shit show for the next 100 years probably. I don't think I hate myself enough to watch something I previously enjoyed go to hell like this that will assuredly continue despite the awfulness.
Also the worship of Disney inventing the theme park is retarded. Not accusing you of this, but the Disney parks community in general. They are completely ignorant of the fact that things like dark rides, etc. were an American staple long before Disney was even a thing. All Disney did was come in an rip off stuff that was in your standard Coney Island style park that existed in every state and big city, remove the less PC stuff like alcohol and adult-ish entertainment and ride themes, and maybe take a few more innovations directly from the World's Fair. Fuck Disney was so arrogant, he built his park right next to one of those parks, Knott's Berry Farms.
It's kind of disgusting how mega-corporations re-write history and the media/dumb public go along with it. It's almost on the level of how the Big Mac is a blatant ripoff of the Big Boy sandwich, yet you'll see CNN reporting that they invented it with a fake creation story where a brave female McDonald's office worker came up with the name Big Mac, despite it being a direct derivative of the original name that existed 30 years prior. The corporation that survives is literally the one that gets to rewrite history.
Not saying the rest of the US amusement park industry isn't at fault for letting this happen with their shitty decisions, but what Disney did was Walmart the amusement park industry so instead of going to your local amusement park you have to spend money to fly to Florida. A whole chunk of Americana is dead and dying because of this especially now that most families can't even afford Disney now, fucking greedy rat. lol

Chill Optimus. I wasn't trying to criticize you. Also it's not the first time this happened. I remember when the King Kong ride burned down and took out like 4,000 artists' master recordings (because storing master recordings in a fucking amusement park building made sense for cost cutting Universal). Amusement parks and fires have a great history.

Cruella was an especially dumb case because it's already explained in the book that it was her real name and that the De Vils are a very wealthy upper-class family. Her country estate is literally named "Hell Hall" for fuck's sake. It was not just a case of Disney giving a dumb explanation for a question nobody asked, it was them giving a dumb explanation for something that was already answered.
You'd think they would release National Treasure 3 first to jog people's memories of an Indiana-Jones-rip-off franchise that had it's last movie released 15 years ago and then follow-up with a crappy-ass TV show that features none of the characters from the films except a small cameo by Justin Bartha.
