See that could be some interesting shit, I feel like if theyre gonna always have the winnower in the background as being this thing that you can't really beat since it's literally a concept exploring more of what it means to be taken and how it works could be exposited via this Lord of Every Nothing, shame we'll never see it
Efrideet is mentioned in a lore tab still chilling with her pacifists
If they ever decide to move out of Sol it'd be really interesting to have her faction brought in, because presumably if you're not using the light to throw nukes around but to do other things like smaller scale terraforming or whatever other shit the light allows you to do it could open up the path to new abilities or rework some things. We know that the Sun breakers were out there just making hammers of Sol in giant ass forges, and it always had me thinking, why not then just also use that to forge shit, like you got these schizos out here wearing bones of wish dragons, is forging using the light so out there? Didn't we do some shit like that with the Exotic swords we made with the remains of Oryx's sword in taken king?
well there was that time when they went for the veil and
Oh yeah you totally just reminded me about the veil, something which we never learned shit about, Nimbus was so insufferable too. I actually really liked Calus as a character and this serious thing between his final moments and his daughter just turned into a fucking MCU flick complete with cringey quips, made me want to shoot the writers out of a cannon into the ocean.
was she ever implied to be some sort of 5d chest master? One of her first actions in the destiny universe is kicking the person set to be awoken queen out of the way so she could become it, she's always come off as someone who knows they aren't the main character desperately trying to be the main character no matter the cost. Whenever her plans actually work it seems like they only worked through random chance not some grand well planned chess play.
Prior to them retconning her character somewhat in the season where Uldren/Crow regains his memories she most definitely is implied and explicitly in the lore shown to be very manipulative, like for example the whole taken king shit, where the ritual they were doing seemingly actually did work, and it's implied that Mara now has a throne world of her own and that her seeking more power was always the play. Her doing the Coup in the Distributary like you mentioned is one of the times where it's just plainly stated that she's manipulative. Then theres the whole thing with Riven. I don't think she's this bumbling idiot that occasionally has her plans work, I do think she's actually making plans and more often than not they work out at least in part, but the player character being what we are means that we see her plans fail alot more on screen than otherwise.
I do think at some point they might have had plans to have Uldren/crow kill her TBH ala elric of melnibone style but I think they veered off that course like with how the traveler was hinted at as not actually being this super benevolent thing and that it was actually humanity that crippled it to keep it from leaving.
