Really, what this final update says to me is that there's a lot of retarded shit that happens thanks to management prioritizing quarterly earnings over quality products. Imagine if Bungie would have done what Jagex is doing with RS3 now, putting development efforts towards QoL improvements and building a better foundation for the game that they'd fucked up before. The series could have gone on for many years to come, and it could have built up a stronger, more populous player base in that time. But shit like that doesn't have a tangible numerical benefit, so it completely flies over their head as they focus instead on securing their bag. Same reason why we always saw more effort get put into Eververse every season than game improvements; having a few artists whip up a bunch of skins to sell for $10 or $20 a pop is much easier to quantify the RoI than making some game system slightly better.

I'm no commie, but damned if I don't understand why a lot of people have no faith in capitalism these days.
No ideology has a monopoly on bad management. Bungie and Sony both made poor corporate strategic decisions in the past few years. The former overinflated its value and live service "expertise" to get acquired while the latter threw money down the drain with titles like Concord and Destruction AllStars. It's rather fitting that as Marathon and Destiny face uncertain futures, neither Jim Ryan (Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO during the acquisition) and Pete Parsons (Bungie CEO during the acquistion) are no longer in their positions today.

Destiny 2 had questionable and downright disgusting business practices but what ultimately destroyed the franchise was terrible leadership.

Ostatnio edytowane:
Lol no it was not a good decade. The good decade was Halo CE to Reach.
He meant it was a good half-decade for him, getting paid a huge salary to spin in his chair while Rome burned.
Why are BLAST HAVER’S™ so antagonistic to Destiny players?
Sunk cost. They can't accept they backed a shitty game that's already in 4-figure peaks only 3 months after release.

Destiny was a great IP ruined by incompetence over the course of a decade, Marathon was a shit idea poorly executed that will be lucky to last a year.

how i loathe the faggots that cried for this to be "balanced", i can rest easy knowing the game they love is dead however, although the parasites might migrate to another game but that's some other nigger's problem.

I hope to God this is true. But I know that even if it is, it isn't anywhere near enough for the buttfucking this piece of shit deserves. He'll still be wealthy enough to keep fucking around indefinitely. I'll take whatever victories we can get over the fucker.

I've been thinking of getting The Division 2 since it's on sale, would anyone recommend it?
It's pretty good and basically more of what the first game delivered, assuming you've played it. It's a great little looter shooter, and the single player is fun, but it's not exactly an MMOTPS if that's what you want. That said, the Division 3 is going to come out soonish and you probably won't be missing out on story/lore content if you don't play 2. I'd say go for it if it's cheap, otherwise just wait for 3. Also
>We got the Division 3 before Destiny 3
>The Division outlived Destiny
>The Division 3 is going to have more raids/strikes
>They're going for the Destiny audience
>MFW

Beggars can't be choosers I guess. I'm going to play it.

Praise be our lord almighty god if this is true, hopefully he hangs himself like the old man in Shawshank; writing on the ceiling post, “giant traitorous faggot was here”.

Are we posting murals? I always have loved the ending of The Final Shape, where you and your fireteam will be sitting on top of that ship. It’s a beautiful ending, it’s very fitting. I went through the campaign solo my first go around and the screenshot I got was wonderful.

Im still gonna keep playing, I’m having a blast. I just got Icebreaker from Vespers Host, and the pure joy and jubilation I felt, after grinding this dungeon several days in a row, was amazing. I wanna grind the other raids and dungeons to try and get their exotics, make a build for each sub-class and maybe finally make a hunter and warlock and grind those characters. Just collect shit, kill aliens (especially the fallen), and play until I’m content, which hopefully won’t be for awhile.

Games good, simple as, kill Osiris with AIDS when D3 releases. Oh, and fuck Jason Jones.

I've had the most fun with Wavesplitter. Genuinely hated trace rifles with every fiber of my being but damn it's some really good shit, catalyst makes it even more fun.
You should try it with the artifact that has the triple wombo combo of void perks (I think Tablet of Ruin?), giving you an easy way to apply volatile and weaken in groups, overshields, and more explosions. Pair that with the orbs and explosions from the catalyst, and I'll bet it's an add-clearing monster.

In other news, next week's update has been delayed because some of the fixes were being worked on by devs that got canned, so whoever's left is going to have to finish it up. Gotta swing that hatchet before the quarter ends, I guess, no matter what else is going on.

I know this won't get fixed now, but it's bothered me ever since the end of season 8 that there are two guardrails next to Ikora in the Tower that never got put back in place. There was a big gateway that got built up over time behind her which was what we used to defeat the Undying Mind that season, and the guardrails were moved slightly to allow you to get on the walkway attached to it without jumping over them. When season 9 started, the gateway was removed, but the guardrails were never put back. Surely someone at Bungie had to have noticed this at some point, especially in this latest update where they did a fair amount of Tower renovations, yet nobody ever stopped to move those two objects back to where they were. I guess not many people care, I only found one post from a few years ago asking about it, but dammit, I care.

It seems the sentiment of "Jason Jones was a major contributing factor to Bungie's fucktarded behavior" isn't getting dismissed out of hand anymore. I've noticed comments pointing out his hatred of sequels and desire to always be doing something else that aren't getting downvooted like they might have, and while most of the blame continues getting lobbed at Pete and his cars, it's not like Jason's getting nothing but ballwashing like he used to. This whole clusterfuck has gotten a lot more people to look back at Bungie's history and realize that these problems have been there for decades, and they finally reached a point where it all came crashing down.

Look, I at least have to give Jason credit where credit's due. I think he's a very creative guy, and without him, the spark behind a lot of my favorite games wouldn't be there. But I don't think he has ever had the capacity to truly be a manager, a position that he only really had because of seniority (it doesn't get much more senior than co-founding the damn company). When it was a small team of a few guys jamming on a game together, it wasn't that big of a deal, but when the company grew to dozens, hundreds, over a thousand people, he was no longer the right guy to be calling the shots. They needed someone who understood that you can't just say "I'm bored" to get out of a contract, someone who wouldn't waste countless resources just trying to find something that would interest them to work on. And yes, eventually he stepped aside to be "Chief Visionary Officer" while some other randos took the management jobs, but let's be honest, they were just there to rubber-stamp whatever Jason wanted to do.

Really, Jason should have bounced off of Bungie years ago, hired a small group of devs, and just worked on whatever he wanted, leaving Bungie to keep working on Destiny as long as they saw fit. Or hell, just left with his fuck you money to do whatever he pleased, even if it wasn't related to gaming (Marty related how it was a dream of Jason's to have fuck you money in an interview). But I don't think he could ever bring himself to leave the company he co-founded; that, and he liked having a massive group of devs to work on whatever he felt like. Unfortunately, we see how well that worked out.

Jesus Christ! A nose ring, and are those fang piercings? Why would anyone want to do that to their mouth?
They make it so hard for me to fag post poetic about this game.

Why couldn’t the game just be made by fucking chuds so I don’t have to be embarrassed by how much I love it. It’s so tiring lol. Hope the tranny dies or gets aids or something blah blah blah, yada yada.

I’m tired boss.
