Basic psychology taught us that a child mind and personality is not fully developed until they hit puberty, a 4 year old child cant take a decision like this, his mind does not even understand reality, hell even at 11 or 12 years old they still have trouble understanding abstract concepts, this mum is basically developing mental and physical illness on her child.
Its like if my child says he wants to have swords instead of arms and I cut his fucking arms and replace them with sword proteses, I mean a child can think its pretty cool but when they see how the world and reality works shit is gonna hit the fan.

The worst part is if you call one of these parents on this subject all they'll say is that also means kids can't make the decision to be cis either. These freaks absolutely reject the idea preferring your natal gender is normal.

It's really sad because since he is on blockers, he won't go through puberty (unless his mom allows him to go off them, which I can tell you ain't gonna happen). If he never undergoes puberty and then starts taking estrogen when he is is 15 or 16 or so, his penis/testicles will never mature, and he is basically giving up having a normal male sex life when he is just a small kid and doesn't even know what sex is or feels like. His mom is taking that away from him. A 4-year-old kid is being made to throw that away (as well as his fertility), not even realizing what he is giving up. This crap definitely should be illegal.

The irony is that the original intention of using puberty blockers in children with gender dysphoria who were approaching puberty was to buy time to see if the desire to be a different gender persisted as the child matured and after other approaches to addressing any issues in their lives had been tried, so that options were kept open until the child was mature enough to understand the consequences. It was never meant to be the first step on the medical path to inevitable surgical transition.

The default state of 99.9% of people is normal, not fucked up and deviant. The default treatment should be that which best serves the vast majority of the public, not what harms the vast majority of the public and only, maybe, benefits an infinitesimal minority.

These are the same fuckdrops who kick up a stink when royal births are announced as "it's a boy" or "it's a girl" (seriously, they spat the dummy when Prince George's birth was announced that way).
I can't be fucked looking through it tonight, but there are some inconsistencies in the Avery story which I want to check out tomorrow. Could just be bad reporting or it could be mum making shit up as she goes along.

We don't actually know. Previously they were used for relatively short periods of time in children with precocious puberty, and even then only in fairly extreme cases. The intention there was for puberty continue normally at a more appropriate time, not to stop it dead and then artificially induce the secondary sexual characteristics of the opposite sex.
This is a relatively balanced article in that it admits that the effects are largely unstudied - it's less than 10 years since puberty blockers were first used in this particular manner.
