I ghetto rigged my AC for $500 by getting one of those 15" wide vertical window unit. Fabbing up a 16" wide metal cage that slots between the 16" stud spacing after i cut a hole in the wall. You just plop the window unit into the cage, fill the airgap with insulation and put some trim to flush out the look. If the unit breaks i just chuck a new one in the cage (I left extra height). The bottom of the cage is angled so water drains out correctly with proper flashing all around.

Would have been simpler to install a mini split but they don't let me buy the gas without a license.

Most minisplits I know of come pre-charged with a one-use fill thing.

I wonder if all those deaths are due to old people being so old they sweat to death. Reminds me of the Jap phenomenon of old people suffering "lonely death" being dead for months because everything is so automated that they only know fam is dead via smell complaint or monies ran out.

Fuck there is a whole not police related career dedicated to cleaning dead old people because of how rotted they are in Japan.

The fact that these insufferable pretentious retards would literally rather let grandma die from heat stroke than just buy a fucking portable room cooler, and then double and triple down on their retard logic and excuses for not doing so is so fucking stupid.

The mongs get mocked like crazy every single year for it on twitter and they never learn and when the ratioing gets too bad they try to perform mental gymnastics to delude themselves into believing it's the AMERICANS who are stupid for solving their problems instead of bitching about them online and dying from normal summer temperatures like a retard.

My favorite excuses for not buying AC units have been "Our houses are INSULATED! They're designed to keep heat IN!" Really showing off the traditional european inbreeding with that excuse/logic lol.

Then there's the classic "I can't afford a 2500 euro AC, ASSHOLE!" Then buy a $200-250 window unit or rolling room cooler to use when needed you fucking dumbass.
