Why not? It's not like they don't rework everything about a character every time they make a movie. How many origin stories of Batman or Spiderman are they going to do? Fucking seriously.

I don't think anyone "cares" about Domino, it's more a general saltyness about "we're subverting your characters and you can't do fuck" "Your fandom is our fandom, get out" thats been happening for the last 5 years or so.
From what I remember Domino was basically Female Cable, Holy shit the art was fucking horrible, why did I even read this shit.

Rob Liefeld is a shit artist who only got shittier as time went on. Fabian Nieceza(?) basically made Deadpool the guy we love, Rob just drew him as a ripoff of Deathstroke.

I can see why there's salt given the hold SJWs have had on the American comic industry and their desire to replace every white CIShet male character with something else even if the replacement sucks or is worthy of filling in, fill the creative staff with low-talent diversity hires who don't respect the industry and in some cases, the fans; throw a fit if you get an actor who isn't the color they want (even if that's the one the original character is), think it's ok for "marginalized" characters to act like total dicks (and even racist) and get away with it and everyone should buy the comics regardless while they hardly lift a finger past the second issue.
I think part of the reason they aren't doing a full make up for Domino is because the SJWs were complaining that the MCU covered the black actress who played Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy) in green make-up. To them, that felt like they were "hiding her away", especially since she was one of the first black actresses with a staring role in the modern MCU.

Ryan Reynolds being Deadpool, and unscarred, was crappier than anything this could be.

I... I might care just... just a little bit about Domino. And it really isn't so much a problem with her being black, more the fact that the design is painfully blah. And really, that's kind of disappointing, esp. for a movie like Deadpool, whose first cinematic interpretation of the character turned him into a walking slab of bologna with sword arms and laser eyes. Granted, this isn't nearly as abhorrent as that, but it does do the character a disservice. It's like having the Hulk turn orange, or turning a character like Moon Boy, a hairy ape-monkey character into a little black girl named Moon Girl and... oh hai Marvel. How are you today?
In any case, so long as Domino is still kicking copious amount of ass and still has the mutant ability to... let me look this up... "alter probability fields in her favor" then that's all I really care about. Mostly. Kinda. Not digging the 'fro though. The 'fro doesn't seem combat saavy. And I miss the purple jumpsuit. And and and and and....
NOW IT'S TIME TO EARN SOME AUTISITC RATINGS.
And that second pic of Domino... New Mutants #99. Also the first appearance of Deadpool and Gideon (maker of Bibles and ponytail connoisseur) Fun fact- that actually wasn't Domino, but Copycat (Deadpool's GF from the first movie) which in comic continuity was essentially a low-rent Mystique. The actual didn't make her first -actual- appearance until like issue... I want to say 13 or 14.
This all of course means exactly nothing, but you'll thank me later during Kiwi Farms Trivia Night.
tl;dr - this is my pre-emptive warning that if they fuck up the X-Force movie, I am going probably gonna tard rage like a motherfucker. (Especially if they fuck up Shatterstar. Motherfuckers, do NOT mess up Shatterstar.)

Ssshhhh, ssshhhh.... this is my jam, man. That right there is some early Greg Capullo art... mostly. Not sure about who did the Cable and Domino though. Lefthand side must've been from the early 10s-20s when Cable was away from the team, and Domino was running around with the Six Pack, while other memorable characters like Grizzly, Hammer, and... uhm... Delgado? Anyway, Good times. looking at the image again, Boomer (incorrectly labeled as Boom Boom, which she later changed) is wearing a jaw brace, which happened during the X-Cutioner's Saga, where they and all the X-teams were fighting Stryfe and the MLF. God, that was a fun romp. I mean yeah, Stryfe turned out to be a whiny little shit, but the story was great otherwise. Anyway, greg would later grow up and do some goddamn amazing work with Spawn and Batman. Ever read the Court of Owls storyarc? Same artist, I shit you not.
