Yeah, the game's aesthetic is all over the place. I thought it was supposed to be set in the 1930s, with an occult twist, but looks like they got a new character artist and she's making some tumblr-ass bisexual anime shit. Very generic. Extremely current day, not as timeless as Valve's usual fare or even some of the older models.

Yeah, the game's aesthetic is all over the place. I thought it was supposed to be set in the 1930s, with an occult twist, but looks like they got a new character artist and she's making some tumblr-ass bisexual anime shit. Very generic. Extremely current day, not as timeless as Valve's usual fare or even some of the older models.

It started with Billy, seems like they've shifted where the game is set from the 1940's to the 70's. It's a shame because the occult mixed very well with that time period and I was quite fond of the more mystical sounding tracks on the main menu and when loading into the game which have now been replaced with overpowering drums, although I do like the music that plays while loading in now.

The new designs of the Patron's are cool, although the previous ones did look a lot more otherworldly and as if they were more of a vessel for them rather than their actual forms like they are now. Makes it seem like less of a summoning and more just like a standard war between two powers, very much like Dota's Radiant vs Dire. One thing that is a bit weird though is that the Hidden King's base randomly has speakers all over the place and are a part of the shrines, doesn't really fit with the very pagan wicker effigy aesthetic going on elsewhere.

Hopefully these things get ironed out and this isn't the very last art pass. I just want the game to release at this point so the fanbase gets overtaken by esports types and suppresses all the troons and their AGP hypersexual fandom.

She also does the very tumblr-ass things of copypasting and of going off model in a way that would be fine if it was fanart rather than a sprite you see rapidly flipping between 3 expressions in the course of the game. There are some alt portraits that look good (paradox/haze come to mind) but check out the copy-paste job between drifter normal and injured vs. the new killstreak art:



Half of the others just look like they're meme redraws, especially viscous and doorman.

I like street brawl but I never noticed how ridiculous poking with certain character is(Geist's bomb for example) when you don't have to take into consideration farming/denying and have three other dudes in your lane discouraging any pushes so they just sit there eating bomb after bomb after bomb.

honestly the art direction seemed fine up until billy cuz im pretty sure punk as a culture wasnt around but at the same time its a different timeline so certain things could be ahead or whatever, i think some of the wonkier portraits could just be placeholder since everyone was chimping out for an update, overall id give them a passing grade for it

I think Billy was OK on the notion that he was the exception and not the rule, and was designed to be quite literally from another time and the 4th wall breaking character ala Deadpool. Whether that works or not I leave up to personal discretion.

I just dumped mine on rem because he looks like the most annoying and hoo boy do I love being a fast annoying hard-to-kill little shit in a fps. Heard someone a day or two mention he's supposedly got some variant of wisp's kit from dota but ivy kinda fills that niche already so I'm doubtful. Does anyone know if all the leaks of the new heroes' supposed movesets got collected anywhere?

Eh, I'm just being overcritical because I've had to do that sort of art crit/style guide enforcement for work at one point. It's definitely my favorite of the smug portraits.

I've dropped my bag on REM entirely, purely based on the fact that it's cute and that I am that easy to appeal to. The rest of the coomer bait cast can wait (except for venator, he seems like a pretty cool character too).

The voice is the worst thing about the hero. The thing has a baby voice. Only people who watch VTubers will like this voice.

There's two vents in the hideout that lead to each-other, but also to a little room that has his bed, very cute.

Great update, but unfortunately they have not implemented a troon kick function. Until this is resolved I do have to do the following:
