DC Comics Multimedia General - A crisis of infinite fuck ups

There was a show on the CW called The 100 which was based on a series of teen dystopian books and in the show, they turn the protagonist Clarke into a bisexual woman who hooks up with a lesbian warrior. When the actress of the lesbian warrior left the show, they killed her off and that caused the CW fandom to sperg hard.

That Riverdale show where Archie and Jughead are angsty assholes had Betty and Veronica hook up as a fling in the end of the show.

Archie comics got me into comics when I was five and there was even a line of Archie comics that had the character giving out lessons from the Bible, seeing the CW turn something that pure into degenerate garbage hurt.

I hated how they turned the show into a moody, edgelord mystery show like Pretty Little Liars.

Grant Gustin made a pretty good Flash, shame he was stuck on a show like that.

One thing I hated about Iris is she never treated anyone else like their feelings could be valid. I mean take this scene, Barry isn't comfortable making out in front of other people and he really isn't comfortable because the guy that just entered the room is a father figure to both of them. Some guys are like that and there is nothing morally wrong with it and if the roles were reversed and she were the one who didn't want to make out "No" would mean "No" and pushing for a "Yes" would be treated as a form of abuse but here she treats Barry like dirt for having this point of view and then keeps pushing him to do something sexual he doesn't want to do and more or less implies their relationship will be in trouble if he doesn't do what she wants.

Almost every time Iris was on screen it made my blood boil and it was her actions that did that. I liked Joe, I really wish she hadn't been in the show and we had just gotten more scenes of Barry and Joe working together.

I heard good things from CW Superman, but I never have it a chance because I knew how ridiculously woke Supergirl and Batwoman ended up being

By that point I just didn't trust them to watch any of it . Also to be honest their format of teams with each superhero having their inner circle of cheerleaders never worked for me. And I would argue it just made them all worse for the sake of soap opera drama.

Having a sidekick or Alfred is one thing. But Can you imagine how terrible the Battison or Nolan films would be of they had a soap opera style "team Batman" behind them?

It might work for some heroes, even Batman has had Oracle helping him. But the CW over used this format as as a lazy crutch.

Superman and Lois was the best show they did. Once they got Superman away from the Supergirl writers and in his own universe it was great. Don't watch him in any of the other shows, the show he has on his own is much better and has a protuction team that didn't have much to do with the other CW shows.

Start with the pilot movie, it sets up the rest of the show.

It really is a great show and I wish they would have just made this version of Superman's family the one in the movies instead of giving us yet another reboot by James Gunn.

This is tied with Lois and Clark as my favorite Superman TV show. Oh, and they didn't race swap Lex, that is a fake out.

because it tackles real life societal issues with the villains, and how monsters can be made, and it doesn't even justify them, it just presents to you a monster, a villain, perfectly crafted by circumstance and societal faults.
that's been done to death in various permutations in my opinion. my answer is the Venture Bros. because of how absurd costume villiany is.

yea but it does it better than modern shit, Shigiraki is a very well crafted villain, and a good mirror foil to the MC, both through circumstance run into legendary figures, both quirkless (well we find this out later) but one got the short end of the stick, and no one gave a fuck.

Yeah, IMO MHA is the best written superhero story of all time and the anime is a great adaption and it is really helped by having an ending, unlike western comics and I was shocked to find it stuck the landing and got it right.

A 10/10 from me.

I got in through mix of ancient DC, Star, and Archie
had a buddy growing up who's mom named her after an Archie character
it wasn't Mrs Grundy so it wasn't obvious but by the time she was a teen she sorta hated her name knowing it was a dumb comic book reference, even though she was a nerd herself
Arche used to publish Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Archie TMNT was a lot like their Sonic where it goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY the fuck off into their own dimensions

Superman would win

If for nothing else, Superman was never the jap version of the nigger dad who leaves his family for months on end for "training" like Goku did throughout all of Gohan's childhood. And instead Clark tries to be about close to best husband and father for Lois and Jon he strives to be.

I'm old enough the idea of Superman having a son is still lolwat
that was the big difference between Goku and Superman was Goku had kids and then had to go train and fight and save the world and be dead and shit but he had kids to worry about too

Too mad, sadly there are people who think that "Elza X Anna" would be good yuri, it would be fallacious for the groups to defend this... but well, just going against the "Conservative" you know Monogamy, Fidelity and other things that the Troonys label as "Right" or "alt-right"
Same Energy, Same sadness for a Draws but hey "You got a Life" and "Touch Glass" he?
Wasn’t Kara’s sister a legit lesbian in the show? I remember her having some Mexican girlfriend who had a asshole father?

All I remember was the Mexican having a asshole father whining about grow up as a illegal immigrant.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Dw3dkIXVG-s
They're using this to pair her with her stepsister; the best possible scenario is that this crap doesn't go beyond porn or become ideological because it generates stupid discussions about which ship will be more likely in a betting game.
Yeah, she was and people on Twitter wanted her and Kara to hook up before Lex Luthor's sister was added to the show.

The CW fandom was full of degenerates. I watch it because it was the only sation that I could get over the air on my TV at the time and there were no internet lines to my house.

The Flash was really bad because Barry called Iris' father "Dad" and he had been living with them since he was eigbt and for the first couple of seasons Iris treated Barry like a brother and I made the mistake of saying this made the relationship creepy and was called a racist because of that.
Unfortunately, this happens in any massive fandom where it's filled with more manic perverts than the rest (and that's saying something, considering the lore of Chris Chan and Sonichu). Many say the FNAF fandom is full of controversies, the Sonic fandom is full of aberrant perverts, or that FNAF is full of pedophiles, and more examples, because that's just how it is...

I mean, I'd like to see something "disturbing" regarding DC beyond the disturbing Batman comics written by Alan Moore (whose Batmans are usually ridiculously depraved).

Minor correction: Shigaraki HAD a quirk similar to Overhaul but AfO stole it from him and took away the reconstructing aspect before returning it. The mirror works as Shigaraki was born with a godlike quirk while Deku was quirkless.

The CW DC shows were terrible when it came to morality. Batwoman had an episode where a teenage hacker got a slap on the wrist after committing terrorist acts because she got outed as lesbian before telling her intolerant parents. She also whined about having no representation, which led to Batwoman publicly revealing she munches carpets. Gotham Knights would justify stealing from a luxurious clothing store because the clothes were made with child labor.
