I think Post-Crisis Supes would be the one guy writing an article about how the world failed Walter Kovacs and that in spite of everything set against him, Rorschach made a difference and gave his life to expose a cabal of hypocrites, one of which was the only man he ever called “friend”
"Meeting with Kent left a bad taste in my mouth. He is pampered and decadent, betraying even his own shallow, liberal affectations. Possibly homosexual? Must remember to investigate further."

when even women arent lining up to see this and are calling Milly Alcock ugly.

My sister is one of them. Says she just hates her face. I’m surprised she was even interested in seeing it in the first place. Still brings up a good point: why see a movie when it’s hard to look at the lead actor? She’s not the ugliest lead I’ve seen, but whoever compared her to a Geico caveman… wasn’t wrong.

My wife and I might pirate it. Both of us hated the last Superman movie and expect very little in terms of quality from it. I’m hoping for an entertaining shitfest. She’s curious how much the shitfest deviates from the original storyline.

TBH even though its a very tired argument I need to wonder why the handful of people who like Supergirl think its sexist to not support it when even women arent lining up to see this and are calling Milly Alcock ugly.

They don't.

I mean sure there will always be people that like garbage. But overall they majority of men doing this are just virtue signaling. It's the male equivalent of "not like the other girls."

They need to tell people, specially women, how "good", they are by supporting a product made to pander women (even if women hate it too). If they were honest, and if it wasn't a political statement, most of them would tell you it's a mid at best movie, or admit that they hate it too.

He’s divisive sure, but some already have problems with Critical Drinker’s review of Supergirl.

Critical Drinker disliked drunken lush Kara so much, that at one point he came close to criticising drinking.

From what I've seen and heard it's terrible. The one thing I wont pile on with is knocking Milly Alcock as a cave girl because I think she's pretty and for all I know she's a good actress in other things.

The special cup is unbelievable. I guess it's supposed to be her jacket and the colour didn't quite come off? Because Supergirl is known for her jacket... Someone should have seen that and just said "this hasn't worked, just abandon this idea."

Which you can apply to the movie too from what I've heard.

She is not hideous by any means, but she was terribly miscast, in my opinion.

Supergirl, like it or not, has expectations and how she should look, and those are very high. She has consistently been played by very beautiful women. Or drawn as one, if you count comics and cartoons.

I think most people calling her ugly is due to people getting a whiplash for her failing to live to those expectations. Even average is not enough to meet them. So I think it's less her being a hideous monster and more like she is not pretty enough to be Supergirl, which I do think it's the case.

When she is compared to the other live action Supergirls she easily stands out as the least attractive. Even compared to the one that showed up in the Flash movie.

Milly would had been better suited for another role.

I think she could still work if she was pleasant. Supergirl should be the smile like the sun that makes your day. This one is as pleasant as pepper spray after your dad's funeral.

It's pretending to like garbage to own the chuds and Trump.

That's it. That's literally it.

I agree she is miscast. I would say, just personally, that she is the wrong sort of pretty. Milly Alcock is cute. She is fun looking. She's 5'5" but looks smaller. She's a bouncy sort of pretty.

Supergirl should be more on the beautiful end than the cute end. I could see Kara on the Kent farm during the Summer dressed in Daisy Dukes and toting a hay bale on her back. And she'd still look that kind of long-limbed, golden-haired peaches and cream perfection. She should be tallish, not statuesque (that's Wonder Woman) but certainly with a very athletic look to her. The sort of girl who even when dancing in a nightclub has posture like a model.

None of which is meant at all to mean to Milly Alcock who might be a lot of fun and I'll dispute with anyone who thinks she's ugly. But she doesn't look like Kara.

The Supergirl from the Flash movie looked more like a female Kryptonian than Mily Alcock and she was very much more playing Superwoman than Supergirl. But she had a strength about her. I remember when Sashe Kalle was announced thinking along with almost everyone else that she looked wrong. But she actually turned out to be the best part of the movie (unless you nostalgically give it to Keaton for reprising his Batman). Milly Alcock, sadly, is turning out as expected.

I still blame Gunn and the writers and the director more than her, though. What they're asking her for simply isn't Supergirl and never could be no matter who you cast.

She is NOT the kind that you want to be rescued by. Imagine a villain attacks you and you lose your fortune/limb/loved ones only to be quipped by your rescuer about how much of a pain it is to interrupt their binge drinking in order to rescue your sorry ass. Who would want to be rescued by that? She didn't want to be a hero and I would never want her to be one either.

Sasha had a boyish charm about her as well as a certain gentleness. You could tell that she was deeply embittered by humanity but also that she didn't want to be. It was as if she was asking to be proven wrong. Milly is a brat that realized she has the house to herself and proceeds to use her parent's credit card to throw parties, order pizza and drink a ton of beer. Giving that kind of person godlike power is not very safe.

I feel like Snyder at least wanted to try do things that he didn’t see in the comics, but thought would be interesting to see.

-Clark being distraught by his abilities and the alienation he feels (not done very well but I can understand what he is going for)

-Zod having no free will and effectively programmed the way he is. Even if Clark can reach him on some level, Zod is basically a robot and has to obey his programming

-Superman being effectively a sane well adjusted guy who’s going his best in a world that needs him

I feel like Snyder at least kinda got the character, but needed someone to smack him when he got retarded. Gunn feels like he can only be a bad edgelord and will try to make every protagonist a burnout or manchild failure.

Moviebob, who believed his massive tantrum about Gunn being fired by Disney was so loud Disney reversed it, shills hard for Gunn.

We could be here all day debating how beauty is subjective, and Milly isn't ugly ( she isn't hideous to be fair) etc. Believe it or not I have felt bad myself for saying she isn't pretty enough for the role.

Admittedly it's a bit shallow to judge her based on her looks, but unfortunately, or not, looks do matter in entertainment.

Objectively at the end of the day, numbers don't lie, and in the farms there's not need to sugar coat things to be nice. —She just isn't the type of pretty woman that makes woman jealous, and try to be her( they are critiquing her the hardest in fact); or move men me in droves to buy tickets just to see her, and endlessly simp for her like Sidney Sweeny, Gal Gadot or Emma Watson etc.

Poor casting overall.

As I said before, she doesn't have the right approach to style. Farmgirl next door with a warm smile or full blown punk with a ton of hair gel. Those looks would have worked. Unfortunately, they went with hobo girl failure brat with a smell like puked beer.
