Would that even matter to Superman?
Unless it was some nonsense like the sun was literal kryptonite which they never specified, no. So this was just an excuse to write Kara out of the plot both for a second/third act low point and to depower her so she can't just win in 5 seconds, even though a Red Sun would have done that but screw it I guess. At least Gunn's Superman movie had major antagonists with had super strength and goons with power armor so Superman didn't constantly need to get his ass depowered outside of the time where he was specifically to be imprisoned.
I'm not entirely against kids' movies dealing with adult themes. In fact, some kids media should and I've seen it done very well.

But not sure about having sex trafficking of young women in a Supergirl movie. They remember they're making a movie for kids, right?
Not even trying to pearl clutch, but that aspect stuck out the most by far in the entire movie and felt like a novice writer going "I like Fury Road, let's insert women trafficking to be broodmares and also have the end be at the HQ where there's a lotta dust and the bandits get their vehicles out" without thinking about how it actually gels with the rest of the movie.
She was living sunshine. This one is living hangover.
I really don't know what I expected going in considering how she was like that at the end of Superman. I guess I was expecting more of something like that Will Smith movie Hancock, which in itself isn't even good but for completely different reasons related to a total shit second half that feels like 5 rewrites. So Hancock starts off as a bitter asshole that nobody likes, and while he's a complete bum at it because he's sloshed most of the time, he still fights crime because he's ultimately aware of the concept of a greater good even if everyone hates him. We get a character who becomes determined to peel away Hancock's bitter attitude and shape up so we end up having both Hancock grow as a person and Los Angeles realize that even a drunken Hancock was enough to deter crime. Cue end of the first half of the movie, he stops a bank robbery with flying colors, he's sobered up and ready to truly live life outside of the bottle, and LA genuinely praises him for the first time. I don't really know where I was going with this, I guess that such an arc would have been better suited for "Drunk interpretation of Supergirl" than whatever they did, where she's an asshole the majority of the movie and it doesn't really feel like the stupid kid helped Kara change despite Kara claiming that them meeting was what she needed or something.

I think theres also a huge talent drought. You would have to be clinically insane to want to work for hollywood, in california of all states knowing all the scandal, vitriol and filth that goes on there.
I know or see the work of so many talented people. Any of which could do a vastly better script than this sounds like. I could do a vastly better script than this sounds like. What there must be, is a huge talent filter. What and why, is the question.

They're introducing Two-Face in The Batman 2 so giving him a TV show seems like the logical next step.
I hope Reeves can deliver the first good live action Two-Face. I didn't think the guy in the Nolan movie was a bad actor at all, but I don't think he was right for the role nor well directed. Harvey Dent should be a pretty intense person. Almost a fanatic when it comes to justice. He has to be, otherwise the snap when he loses his faith in justice and the law doesn't work. He should also have some physical presence. I like the little detail in The Long Halloween when Bruce visits Harvey at his opponent and notes "he's a big guy" and you see the weights in the background. Nolan partially got away with his casting because he kills Two-Face within hours of becoming him. But Two-Face proper needs to be someone who could convincingly become a gangster. He's nuts, but he's not The Joker. He has to be able to run a mob.

Sydney Sweeney would've been too "right wing coded" for the redditverse they're trying to build. Do you really envision Sydney Sweeney alongside the Republican murdering reddit robot, or reddit Lex Luthor/his reddit monkeys? Or the wholesome chungus gay adoptive father reddit Batman whose already established with 20 Robins?
She's a better Power Girl anyways.

oh yeah Hancock was a thing
I saw that at a drive-in
Or maybe some Green Lantern accidentally dropped their battery into a nearby sun and is definitely getting fired.
I'll always hate AI because google ai told me there was a DC/MAD crossover where Alfred E got a power ring called "The Greenest Lantern"
the fact it's a hallucination isn't what bugs as much as it's a pretty great title for it and probably one of the best ways to do the idea beyond throwing Alfred and Bill Gaines into a crowd scene

https://youtube.com/watch?v=37vQvj4oRXohttps://youtube.com/watch?v=_l0zSd_DQQ4Kino casino pointing out something I heard no one else did. Supergirl opening worse than Jonah Hex, birds of prey, Blue Beetle and The marvels.
You haven't heard that before, because it is bullshit. It should beat all those outside the Marvels which hit $45 million opening, which is at the upper end of Supergirl tracking.

Jonah Hex made $11 million total at the box office. Supergirl will do around 3 to 4 times during its opening weekend. Blue Beatles' $25 million opening weekend will also be beat without issue. Birds of Prey opened at $33 million which is at the low end of Supergirls tracking

Not saying Supergirl will do well, outside the Marvels, Supergirls budget is higher than all of those.Deadline reported it needs to make $315 million to break even, with these numbers and even with good legs, it is not cracking $300 million. Best guess it will top out around $200 million much like the Marvels and Birds of Prey did.

I just finished season 2 of Stargirl, holy shit this show is kino.

>shows up
>turns family-friendly show into a psuedo-psychological horror
>cucks Cindy out of getting revenge
>calls Beth a nigger
>refuses to elaborate
>turns into a piece of toast

I love this goofy-looking fucker so much it's unreal. I can't believe they actually went with him as the season's villain, it was like dropping Freddy Krueger into a Disney flick. That Geoff Johns pulled it off is a serious testement to his skills as a writer.

I cannot wait to see what season three brings.
I love Joel McHale.

Laughing so hard at that supergirl clip. Playing a cover...a bad one at that.....lmao
