Needless to say Supergirl shattered those illusions. There’s no excuse for him to have approved a movie that bad. My opinion of him now is that he is a one trick pony at best.

I enjoyed Superman well enough, but it feels like the honeymoon phase has ended if the media is this desperate to convince the public Supergirl is only bombing thanks to the "manosphere".

For the record, I did too. I think Gunn’s Superman is a movie that changes entirely depending on your mindset. If you are outright tired of the 'evil Superman' fad (Injustice, Omni-Man, Homelander, etc.), or you just like the MCU/GOTG style, the chances of you liking this movie are high. And sure enough, many normies did.

But if you compare it to the best versions you can see elsewhere, like the comics, and especially in animation, you are more likely to see the flaws or even dislike it. Such as his soy-boy tendencies, Gunn using Superman to project his daddy issues, and how this is yet again another band of misfits, etc.

Christopher Reeve keeps the crown as the gold standard.

I cannot imagine Christopher Reeve Superman being upset about tweets, it's such a pathetic dumb thing to cause Superman to crash out and start screaming about, at most Reeve Superman would have been bemused by the whole thing.

This would be his reaction to a fucking tweet saying 'supershit';


then he would move on and forget about it because he is an adult and not a terminally online james gunn-esque loser, but gunn had to turn superman into a thin-skinned whiny bitchmade cuck just like him.

extremely ugly choice for Wonder Woman (might be fine for rogue though), i'd say bullet dodged but james gunn will no doubt find someone even uglier for his wonder woman.
