He even worked on the Tromeo and Juliet soundtrack, so he should know what "punk rock" is. But he's trying to coast on whatever Warner Bros. has classified as "punk" in their back catalogue.

Snyder's DC movies are more like vegetables and meat. Whilst the MCU is sugar and desserts. In the moment, the MCU tastes nice. But later you realise there's nothing to it and you end up liking it a lot less. Whereas the Snyder movies - even if they're a bit more chewy - have a longer digestion and are a bit more satisfying. Even if less full of flavourings.

I firmly believe that the Snyder movies will be looked back on a lot more favourably than most of the MCU or the Gunn movies. A joke is never as funny the second time, but a real emotion can be.

This has persuaded me to try watching DCU. I haven't seen a single film but I watched MCU Phase 1-3.

Usually Batman fans write Joker owning Superman ( see Injustice). But I think it would be the opposite. He would troll Joker and make him regret messing with him.



I see you made a lot of points, but no need to reply to all. We actually agree on everything. I will just clarify that I associate Whedon quips with Bathos, but there's nothing wrong with having humor either.

There’s this thing where what people think Batman is, Superman is more like it and vice-versa. In terms of what they are, I’m not saying Superman is a grimdark badass or Batman a noblebright “ultimate good” it’s more subtle.

Batman is a Boy Scout, the knight in sour armor. Sure he’s unhinged but at his core, he’s a great man, Superman himself thinks so. Bruce is so committed that he’d be willing to be Batman forever if it meant nobody had to suffer like he did. It’s zeal but it’s also the devotion that makes one exceptional.

Superman does a damn good job at playing larger than life but it’s not him, not truly. Clark is a good man who dresses as a great man to inspire others but is remarkably human at his core. His endgame isn’t being Superman forever, it’s being with the woman he loves, on a farm, with flying children and equally silly flying animals.

Lois, after the “truth” in the Rebirth canon was told to her was furious, for awhile. But then she saw the true Clark, the guy forever looking in and wanting simplicity when grandiosity is his birthright.

It’s why the World’s Finest are the best superheroes and their goofy-ass friendship and hijinks are so glorious.
