They identify with/as Phil.

They have probably been picked on their entire lives, and see DSP "getting harrassed by trolls", along with the fact that DSP on paper has a career that they envy (being able to play video games full time), so they legitimately see supporting him as a form of therapy/retribution/karma to get back at their own bullies.

I'm curious if his whales think they are just temporarily propping him up until others start to tip him also or do they actually understand they will be giving him hundreds/thousands of dollars a month indefinitely.

I really don't understand the 5 or so dudes who give dsp so much money. I'm not mad or jealous or anything like that, I'm really just genuinely confused about why a grown man would give another grown man from the internet thousands of dollars to play video games. Its really just weird more than anything.

They see themselves in phil, but they're too stupid to see that phil will never improve if they continue to shower him with money. I'm curious to see how far they will go.

Returnal, Pokemon and RE8. He's spent the last 10 or so minutes on some bizarre rant about the former, already fully setting himself up to hate it, not like those shill reviewers because he's a real ahnest gamer who tells it like it is.

I've been playing a little bit of Returnal and goddamn DSP is going to hate this game. He hasn't played a roguelite game since The Binding of Isaac and that was only because it was a viewer picked marathon game. He's not a fan of the genre and this one is pretty difficult for being a $70 AAA release from Sony. There's no hand holding to be done and it requires pretty decent reflexes to progress. I can see this going into his "10 worst" games of 2021.

I'm surprised Philipo doesn't do more perks with playing with him on stream. Say for $20 a month, you can play him in fighting games.

This is why Phil will never play multiplayer games with fans or anyone he can't personally vet before they join his party.
