Karl Jobst, the Australian Youtuber who is currently being sued by Silly Bitchell Billy Mitchell over the coverage of his lawsuit against Twin Galaxies, has released a new piece covering the Completionist's charity scandal. Highlights are as follows:
Jobst stands by his previous two videos, even as he faces the threat of a second lolsuit.
The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration published an article stating that they had received $600,000 from the Open Hand Foundation, almost a month after the earliest videos covering this scandal were published.
Jobst shows clips of Jirad stating that they were partnering with multiple organizations researching dementia, including the University of San Francisco. This also includes the claim that he was one of USF's "main funding support partners." Jobst states that Jirad is "lying out of his arse."
Jobst further accuses Jirad and the Open Hand Foundation of charity fraud, where he pulls of the definition of it as stated by the Encyclopedia Britannica. He claims that Open Hand collected money "for purposes not intended by the donors." Jobst firmly stands by this claim.
Jobst states that he never used the word "embezzled" in any of his videos.
Jirad responds by stating that any accusations that he's "using his dead mother's name to steal and embezzle money is categorically false."
Jirad later admits that the money collected from donations to Open Hand "have offset some of the production costs." Jobst points out that this contradicts Jirad's claims that 100% of the money was going to dementia research. Jobst plays multiple clips of Jirad repeating this claim.
Jobst also claims that all the money went directly to Jirad. He provides screencaps of streams where Jirad states that all donations and bits given to his Twitch streams would go to benefit charity. Jirad claims that any donations that were used to cover the production costs of his streams was ultimately reimbursed and given to dementia research.
Jobst states that the only reason why 600k was donated to charity was because of public pressure. He provides a clip of his conversation with Jirad as proof. Jirad states that he could move the money almost immediately.
Jobst brings up the numerous times Jirad mentions his mother's passing, noting that it was "creepy and manipulative."
Jobst does admit his claims that the tax filings weren't signed was wrong. Jirad says that they were e-filed through an accountant which wouldn't require a physical signature. Do note that Jobst is Australian and the Commonwealth of Australia's tax filings are likely different from the United States of America's.
Jirad claims that the Open Hand's golf charity's numbers may not match because some donations take longer to process. While I do not personally know the intricacies of how accounting law works, Jobst states that the donations from that event don't carry through to the next year.
Jobst ends the video with Jirad stating that he's considering suing him. Jobst reiterates his claims that Jirad defrauded his donors by using his deceased mother to garner sympathy.
