That's exactly why Jace is so endearing - he's trying all he can despite (and maybe to spite) his mental issues, interpersonal issues and physical issues. The man may be a deluded, balding, uncoordinated, schizophrenic stoner with a controlling mother who may end up resorting to Munchausen-type efforts, but goddmmit he's giving his all.
He's on the verge of multiple personality spectrum disorders, first creating Stryker as an escape for his own fantasies and desire to get out of his situation and now more so than ever the Ideal Jace that appeases Gail's fervor until he can bend her will enough to return to his former ways. I've firmly decided that I not only actively root for Jace but find myself wrapped up in his psychodrama because he's fighting against a riptide of shit.

Okay, had a chance to watch the whole thing.

Yeah I can see how toxic Gail really is. I am pretty involved with my local church and its Anglican, but thats pretty much as Christian as you're gonna get.

Its quite free flowing regarding services, there are no pews, we just got a new Bose system installed for the P.A, there is no dress code (in the sense that its not a shirt + tie best dressed occasion, you can go barefoot, for example) and the place is always packed, and the vibe is good. Gail is pretty much the exact opposite of what we learn and how we act there.

All the time I always assumed Gail was a ned flanders, and Jace simply didn't want to be bullied into believing something he doesn't.

But after watching this, Gail is clearly anything BUT Christian - even though the Bible says no homophobia etc, we embrace people who are. We have a few kids that come to our Sunday evening service and tuesday dinner nights, and no one tells them what sex they need to be attracted to, they know themselves its technically a "sin" or "wrong" but God loves everybody..

Also the way she talks about other cultures / behaviours is nothing but racist and derogatory.

Its pretty clear that she has NO idea what being a Christian actually means, its quite clearly brainwashing / modern day cult.

It could go Jonestown, but in all likelihood probably not. Most likely just another evangelical with dreams of megachurchdom. If Pastor Faggot is setting up a storefront church, then he's going to want an internet presence as well, for fucking sure.
