Yesss, old Meg Ryan films. And actually a lot of those types of movies from the 90s. I think You've Got Mail is really charming. Speaking of the 90s, I think Christian Slater used to be cute when he was young and True Romance is my favorite movie so I watched 2 kinda offbeat romantic movies he did in the early 90s. Untamed Heart and Bed Of Roses. I guess playing gentle kindhearted uwu boys was his niche for a short while there. In one he's a shy busboy and in the other, a shy florist😆

Anyway, I feel like this is a great thread to recommend Dollface. I think it's an underrated show. I found it really entertaining. The 2nd season is finally on its way so great time to start watching.

Also, The Craft is the ultimate chickflick. I'm a Nancy Downs truther. Nancy did nothing wrong.
I think it was 2020 when they tried a reboot of The Craft. Stuck a troon in it. A troon in the most female movie ever. Thankfully it flopped. Everything about it was horrifying, not just the troon.

Even though I'm not black, I enjoyed Waiting to Exhale. One of girls had a great way of getting back at her cheating husband by taking all of his fancy stuff (skis, premium wine, top quality bikes, etc) and setting up a yard sale where everything is a dollar.

Living Single was also a good chick show. Synclaire was my favorite of the girls.

Watched Love Actually last night and it did make me laugh at some points, but the multiple perspectives was confusing as fuck sometimes and often times. I think I might need to watch it again next year just to see if I can pick up on anything.

I have heard of this one Love Island show. It sounds trashy as fuck and something you would watch if you like stuff like the Bachelor. Even the premise sounds similar to Bachelor in Paradise which I have watched a couple episodes of out of boredom. I never liked any of those dating shows, they always feel a bit too fake for me.

The only Bachelor-like reality show worth watching was Flavor Flav's "Flavor of Love".

Could musical movies be considered woman-centric?? I re-watched Chicago yesterday after many years, and it's a pretty good movie. I don't like musicals in general (except for a few, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show), but I know women who do. Movies like Moulin Rouge, Les Misérables, West Side Story... they're good, but you have to like them.

Sure! Musicals seem to mostly appeal to women (and gay men) so sure! I really like Mama Mia and Phantom of the Opera, those are the two I really enjoy. I also like White Christmas and it is getting to be that time of year to watch it. I also like Chess, but sad that there is no movie adaptation (which I have a feeling it would suck if it is made)

I only saw Mamma Mia from those you mentioned. I liked Grease, Cry-Baby and Hairspray. They're cheesy but there's something about musicals on teenage delinquents from the 50's that I like. That, and John Waters

I liked the Tila Tequila shows only because it was a trainwreck.

I love You've Got Mail, even though it got trashed. French Kiss with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline is my favorite of hers. There's a lot of rom-coms from the 1990s that I like. Cruel Intentions is another one. I've got a soft spot for 1990s Ryan Phillippe. Speaking of rom-coms, I'll watch any rom-com with Hugh Grant in it. Even if it's bad.
Bridget Jones' Diary, YES.

Heathers still holds up, it really laid the groundwork for a lot of the things Mean Girls would later do in its script. You might remember it for such memorable quotes as "fuck me gently with a chainsaw," "Veronica, why are you pulling my dick?" and "my son is a homosexual, and I love him. I love my dead gay son!"

There was this chick flick my aunt recommended to me (who is notorious for having a shit taste in movies) because she thought I might relate to it because I am exceptionally tall called Tall Girl.

I couldn't relate to it at all despite being tall, I was never bullied for being tall at all, people would bully you at school more for being autistic or a sped or call you are "retard" more than bully you for your height, most people are impressed and at worst will often demand that you reach for stuff for them all the time, also it is annoying when you are younger people thinking you are older than you actually are and having higher expectations of you which it doesn't talk about. Also, I never had a problem dating shorter guys and I never really understood why girls are obsessed with having to date men taller than them. I mean, I know the girl gets with the shorter guy in the end, but still, this just isn't like real life.

Has anyone else seen it?

If you’ve never seen the 2007 St Trinians reboot I highly recommend it.
