My wifes best friend has a Genesis with the 8 it's a darn nice car. It's depressing the Kia Stinger GT was only in auto, I understand why (costs and needing a new trans).
I've oft said Equus (ive rode in a first gen and was thrilled) needs to borrow the Asian Market bigger motor for the limos swap that in some springs shocks carbon bits.. make a 100k Even M5 S6 etc compete. Equus sport would sell like hot cakes.
Sadly VW killed Diesel from ever coming back but how cool esp for pick ups would diesel electric be? Small diesel motor 500+ ft lbs and hybrid. I mean we've been doing that for trains and boats for 100+ years.
My understanding is that diesel to electric losses aren't worthwhile in small vehicles because unlike with boats and trains, you're losing way more energy to friction. Same reason why plug-in hybrids in general are shitty for fuel economy. VW is still a bitch for ruining the diesel car market in the US though.
Any thoughts on Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT tires on an AWD vehicle? I had to replace my old true AWD ride with another true AWD vehicle, not one of those lame ass electronic brake shitty AWD systems. I cannot get my old make of AT tires in the new size for some reason and these are the best analogs I can find. Basically I need tires that can handle ~10% dirt roads with sharp rocks, 40% cold as heck and deep snow and 50% marginal pavement. I drive like an old man but when I need good ATs with snow and cold I really need it. I could get snow tires for winter but I'd rather run one set; I have snow tires but I'd rather not swap out each fall and spring.
A: that's an obvious ripoff of the MB C class W204 styling.
B: last one looks like the failure that was the Daimler Chrylser / Maserati re-bage.

Diesel-electric is the go to for trains because it's a hell of a lot easier to drive a generator with a giant diesel engine then route electrical power to multiple traction motors on multiple trucks than it is to route that power through a transmission, gearboxes, and shafts to drive the axles. Plus not having to shift, you can imagine, is a major plus for something that needs to be able to start on an uphill grade pulling a bunch of weight, then get up to a comfortable 75mph when the track is open and flat. Diesel-electric also enables the use of helper units that don't have an engine at all, and are just another set of driven wheels on a heavy chassis for extra traction.
