Wu had a few things going for him that kept them from wrecking his delusional tranny ass.
1. The unspoken rule in the SJW crowd of "thou shalt not harm a tranny's fee-fees". Even though he doesn't publicly identify as trans, Brianna revels in the protection his status gives him.
2. While his connections in the video game industry aren't that impressive, somehow John has a pretty good collection of contacts in mainstream media that puts most of the inner circle to shame. This is likely the main reason Zoe's group put up with John's bullshit for as long as they did before quietly washing their hands of him.
3. Outside of the elites, the random outsiders tolerated him for so long because he was the only "elite" that interacted with the random people. Of course, as we all know, John would go and ruin that goodwill the moment he got moderator status on the Reddit subforum (kind of like he does with anything the second he gets any real power).
4. Most of them were guilty of worse than John and John is a psychotic manchild who will turn on anyone in a heartbeat if he thinks they are endangering his scams or the Brianna Wu myth. He can sit on his ass all day finding ways to ruin a person's life or career and there isn't a lot people can do about it.

Amazingly, not only have you started jack shit, but you did it with zero integrity to boot.
Does anyone doubt that, if by some miracle she ever got elected, she'd be bought and paid for by special interest groups within seconds of taking up office? They wouldn't even have to use gifts or promises of campaign money, you could buy Wu just by flattering her ego and telling her that she's important and respected.
Also, where's the Star Trek event email? How do you promise something as simple as an email and then fail to deliver? Jesus.

It's ironic that Wu, who apparently went crazy over protesting the Iraq war, is now openly reusing Dubya's "don't let the smoking gun be a mushroom cloud" talking point.

Time for one of my occasional serious posts about Flynt For Congress: has anyone noticed that John has absolutely no clue who holds the levers of power in... well, anything? His entire strategy (if you can call it that) is "Win the media, come up with the hottest takes and cuttingest retorts on social media, and win the election". We never see him trying to get endorsements, buddying up with local leaders, or anything like that. The only time John ever mentions leaders of any sort is to slag them off.
I mean, for the love of God, he lives in Massachusetts - one of the few places in the country where you could find people who unironically agree with his views. Why hasn't he gone out to the most liberal churches he can find and tried to get some endorsements from local pastors? Why doesn't he give a talk at the Young Democrats club at the local colleges? There are plenty of Massachusetts-ites who would love to hear from a terrifying non-passing trans woman. But he's not engaging them at all.

There's a malice vs. incompetence argument to be had here. Is it possible that Wu doesn't know that what she's doing is utterly ineffective at reaching out to actual voters in the district she intends to stand in? It seems so unlikely, but maybe the :autism: is so severe that that's the case. I mean, you make an "advert" and distribute it only on the web to your twitter followers and to the half a dozen people on your mailing list. The video gets a couple of hundred views, half of which are almost guaranteed to be people who don't support you but are there to see what the crazy tranny does next. Why would you go ahead and do exactly the same thing again? But that's what Wu does. You can't not know that this isn't working, the numbers are there in black and white for everyone to see.
So maybe it's just that Wu simply has no interest in actually being elected. She gets free money from donors that she can spend on toys, Frank isn't on her back about getting a proper job, she can pretend to be a big shot on twitter and do "quirky" things like tweet about her congressional arcade cabinet and go to see Star Wars as a "campaign event." The litmus test is going to be ballot access. If Wu actually puts in the effort to reach out to genuine district 8 voters to get on the ballot, then maybe she's serious about running. If, on the other hand, she blows it off or makes only a token effort that fails miserably then it's probably that she doesn't give a damn about being elected, the real goal is simply never to have to do any work.
