He seems reasonable to me, and backs up his statements with statistics. The only inaccurate information in the video is his claim that Tupac is dead, while we all know he is alive and well in Serbia.

The dissolution of the traditional family unit has had a negative effect on western culture, this is nothing new.

Every moderator on this site is a fucking nigger.

I think I mentioned elsewhere that the black incarceration rate, while out of proportion with their population as a percentage of the whole is in line with their percentage of criminal gangs.

Gang culture in turn is fed by a social breakdown which imo has its routes in 'post nuclear' ie fatherless families. Plenty poor groups in the US and yet black African immigrants do not for gangs like 'African' Americans. I believe the lack of family values is the difference.

Could you show me your source for this? None of the data I'm able to find give separate breakdowns for Africans vs. African Americans.

I am aware that there are major disparities in income and overall attainment between African immigrants compared to African Americans, so that does sound right, mind you.

I have found some very conflicting indications on this, which doubtless reflects all the various kinds of spin one is being sold.

I don't think you're wrong to suggest cultural factors, but I doubt they tell the whole story.

Marriage rates among black immigrants are significantly higher, and they are significantly less likely to live in female-headed households, indicating familial stability like you suggest.

African immigrants live in relatively unsegregated areas once they have been in the country long enough (the well-documented phenomenon of spatial assimilation), while African Americans remain in highly segregated communities.

African immigrants are also pretty well educated, being more likely to hold a bachelor's degree than the native population, while African Americans still have some of the lowest level of educational attainment in the country. Their levels of income reflect this (Nigerian Americans in particular have a higher median income than Dutch or Korean Americans). Many of them arrive with Bachelor's degrees to pursue higher studies.

Meanwhile, some 70% of all males in federal prison do not have high school degrees.

However, immigrant populations are highly likely to use welfare programs, apparently. Much more so than the native population. African and Caribbean immigrants (the same highly educated high-earners) top this chart after Central Americans and Mexicans. It could reflect lower home ownership rates, perhaps. Or maybe some of the ethnicities which continue to lag are responsible for the disproportionate welfare usage.

That was kind of a rambling post and I don't really have any sort of point to make other than that trying to identify a single overriding factor to blame for this phenomenon seems like a lost cause. I suppose that's not very helpful.

I'm not sure about his general conclusion but it is an absolute certainty that when children are not raised by two parents, the outcomes are fucking terrible.

(Also marrying the government is probably a lot worse than marrying Jesus or some shit.)
 
There are some interesting points. Though it is arguable if having the father sometimes isn't always the best thing. Hear me out on this. My maternal grandma had an alcoholic, abusive husband whose irresponsibility destroyed the family's insurance business. She either had to get a legal separation okayed by the pope (she was Catholic) or let his influence and abuse wreck the family. So she raised my mom and her siblings on her own until her death.
 
I know this isn't really the thread for it; but is there some sort of BLM anniversary thing soon? I saw some rando with a RIP Mike Brown sign taped to a flag talking to a cop outside my county courthouse this afternoon.

I don't think that's really a problem pertaining to blacks as much as it is a problem pertaining to everybody in America. People seem to think that single-parent families and homosexuals adopting kids is normal and ok when it really isn't.

It is. It's not american black society that has been hellbent on destroying the nuclear family and painting it as obsolete for decades, they've just been the main group to suffer from it. The stable family unit is one of the reasons modern african immigrants to the US do better on practically every metric than even native whites. Education is intrinsically linked to parental involvement and life philosophy. Just look at african american society just post-desegregation vs now, despite being actually institutionally opressed in a variety of ways back then vs being institutionally favored in a variety of ways today. It's regression on a massive scale.

No, just "progressive" agenda in general, not particularly favoring homosexuals so much as loathing anything that may possibly be perceived as the social status quo, since the status quo is always evil and bad and must be changed. It's an item of faith with no rational basis and has driven a lot of "progressive" ideology for a while now.
