Berkeley cancels another non-leftist lecture - Free speech not for thee
"University officials informed the campus' College Republicans chapter that bringing another controversial right-leaning figure to speak would now come with new, massive fees and additional obstacles."
A spokesperson for Berkely gave a BS excuse saying that the cancellation had "nothing to do whatsoever with the speaker’s perspective and everything to do with what law enforcement professionals believed needed to be done to provide a safe and secure event." That's rich considering the city police did basically nothing as rioters ran amok last time.
So by "security issues" assume they mean the "dumbfuck undergrads and a handful of forever-students (the fuckers who are in their late 30s and never graduated college because the real world scares them too much) who don't know how to function an opposing viewpoint and cause fires," right?
Cuz here's the deal: and this is speaking as a person who has voted for team blue until the last year or two, and also factors heavily why I don't associate myself with team blue any longer: I am severely straining to remember the last time I heard about any wild pack of right-wing nutjobs vandalizing entire city blocks or nearly burning down buildings. I'm having a hard time remembering the last time I saw the KKK or Stormfront or whoever ripping middle-aged people from their cars and curb-stomping them. Make no mistake, this isn't to be perceived as me saying that said groups are great and wonderful people- they're not- but the main cause of any actual strife for people as a whole are the soft-bellied pseudo-intellectuals who want to see change, but go around doing so by enacting the most basic mob-mentality imaginable.
So... tl;dr I suppose... Berkeley is for babies, operated by babies, and supported by babies.
It says something about this generation that has been so raised by internet culture that a debate is unthinkable when you have a block button. If you can't even attempt to hear out an opposing view point, what's the point of education? What's the point of anything? Surely these aren't the types of people who think it's much better to silence an enemy than try to reason with them?

It's easy to believe in nothing when doing so lets you act like an pretentious, holier-than-thou cunt all the time and handwave any criticism or hypocrisy on your part as oppression. Having principles is for nazis.
Oh, it would collapse in a heartbeat. Most universities would because their base tuition has inflated beyond all reason to the point where they actively factor in peoples' Pell Grants and then up the price based on that.
They have killed the gods and burned the pedestals that used to hold their fellow man.
They have willingly chosen to cast aside all faith in favor of an unfeeling, infinite sea of black. They have willingly thrown away everything to the point that cold hard facts and numbers provide no comfort anymore. They have given in to the despair that they are a single little dot on a pathetic blue speck and that in the end, they don't matter.
