Bayonetta was in the latest Smash Bros. The fact that people didn't expect this is really baffling, especially the Xbox One people. That thing isn't getting another Platinum game after what happened to Scalebound.

also yes i know Cloud was in Smash that doesn't count

Most of the salt gathered in this thread come from people who doesn't understand how Nintendo operates.

It's really great if someone decides to rescue a franchise that people loved - The same people who dismissed it as a DMC clone and now bitching over it being a WiiU exclusive prove my point.

And something really ironic in this whole affair is the fact that they always ask Nintendo to make their games less "childish" or "infantile", while at the same time they're complaining about a stylish spectacle fighter with a sexualized gothic witch that punches angels in the face is going to be... an exclusive title to a console made by the ones who make "infantile" and "childish" games. Anybody who's complaining about it being an exclusive can shove their heads up their asses for all I care, as a fan of those stylish fighters, I think it's always nice to see something else than just Devil May Cry around.

Did you really expect anything else, considering Nintendo's hardcore haters are somehow far more autistic than any of their fans?

Especially when the only thing we have of DMC is an HD rerelease and hushed rumors from downrent GAF.

Correct me if I'm wrong as this is obviously before my time but, isn't the fact that there was a pretty much a port of every game for every console at least one of the factors behind the 1983 video game crash? I'm not saying this is anything like that but doesn't it show that having every game on every console is inherently a bad thing?

Why are they whining again? I mean with the Wii U I could sorta understand it since the Wii U was the Jaguar of that generation but the Switch, while no Wii, is a smash hit in Japan and is getting Japanese devs onboard. At the very least it'll be another 3ds or PSP, it'll be a more sound investment by the time Bayonetta 3 launches.

It wasn't the fact that there were ports to every system, it was that there were far too many consoles, and the market got more crowded with the rise of the home computer, something that didn't slow down. Eventually once the game industry crashed, a side effect is that there have been far fewer consoles on the market.

Bayonetta wouldn't have gotten a second game at all if it weren't for Nintendo, and they haven't released it for any other platform but the WiiU. If you thought Bayonetta 3 was going to be anything but Swtich exclusive, you are a big 'ol fag.

Yes and no. The issue with oversaturation had more to do with a game being made for absolutely everything in as short a timeframe as possible. The ET game was put together weeks and was expected to sell millions. Most HD rereleases actually serve purposes in that: some people just don't have the room for the myriad different consoles they'd need, don't want to emulate it/or the homebrew option has problems (as is the case with some ps2 and WiiU emulation), finding moniters that natively support old consoles is getting harder with time, or they might want better resolution compared to the original product.

I'd frankly like it if Bayonetta 2 and 3 eventually got ported over onto PC like Bayonetta 1 did, but i'm probably just gonna end up buying 2 and 3 on Switch anyways.

"I'm not gonna buy a console for just one game!" says Twitter crybaby about fifth Switch game he's mad he can't play.

At this point we have 300 hundred consolez on the market, that mostly run the same games, just with different specs.
Nobody takes risks anymore, because games are too expensive
And it's showing. I bought very few games this year because of that.
im sick of the 1080/60fps argument. Who cares. If that's your deciding factor for spending $60 on a game, then your priorities are the worst.

60fps for bayonetta are mandatory.

Eitherway, people should be blaming ms and sony. Definitely not nintendo.

by all records Bayonetta 2 on wii u was actually more successful overall than when it was released on 360/ps3 (back then these same "fans" weren't even playing the game, they were on the sidelines saying it was just another dmc clone but with titties)

No, it really wasn't. The original Bayonetta shipped over 1.3 million units on PS3 and 360. Then add another 300,000 from Steam. It would be optimistic to say Bayonetta 2 sold 500k.

That guy is bitching about framerate and somehow managed to give a damn about the Devil May Cry collection? If graphics matter so much why the hell are you buying a PS2 game for the third time?

The amount of people that don't get it never fails to amuse me
Hating sales on a console where the best selling game on the platform (BoTW) outsold the console itself, it should be on the PS4 where its best selling game (uncharted 4) was a drop in a bucket compared to the 21m PS4 units out there, suuuure.
