It's like having anorexia. They think it's about being more attractive to women, but really it's about satisfying their own impossible standards for their appearance. It's a mental illness that makes them see a hideous ogre every time they look in the mirror, even if they're objectively normal or even attractive. When I see a guy who obviously has body dysmorphia I feel sorry for him, not attracted to him. Many of them do actually start out good-looking, but the BDD ruins it and turns them into uncanny-looking nervous wrecks.

I actually got to know one of those guys over the last 3-4 months. A lot of it comes down to impressing other guys or being better than other guys or mogging them in some way. By using this sample of 1 I can confidently say that's 75% of their motivation. Then 15% is about getting hot pussy. I know that doesn't add up and there's 10% missing but that's how it is sometimes.
The stated reason for getting into all of this IS to get dank pussy, but there's not enough time for that because after work/school, work out and the Patrick Bateman beauty routine they have shit to do on the internet. Also because of insecurity.
