Normally video game companies can fire people at will because they have people knocking down the door to work there. Riot, however, was stupid enough to set up their office in West LA, a place that's already saturated by programmers and much better jobs (pretty much every major software company has an office in West LA), and in the same SoCal area as far superior video game companies (Blizzard, Niantic, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Obsidian, etc).
And that doesn't even get into their completely toxic work culture...
To quote a philosopher: "When California Universities send its people to Riot, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing sexual harassment. They're bringing dick grabbing. They're rapists.
