Well Tokyo Godfathers Dub got a trailer and it is quite bad. I'm usually split on the whole subs/ dubs thing but this is terrible

Wait, it's got a dub already? Is Crispin Freeman Hana?

*watches*

Goddammit. I'll just stick with my sub-release DVD. It came with a copy of a picture of Miyuki drawn by Kon himself, and it wasn't afraid to have "faggot" in the subs. I bet Gin doesn't say it once because it's "politically incorrect" and "for kids even though we've released adult anime under our rather-misleading title".

EDIT:
I just remembered that a Sega vs Nintendo anime existed. World War Blue.

Spoiler alert, anime Tails dies almost immediately.

Fuuuuck, I remember that piece of shit. It's a Sega vs Nintendo anime in name only.

Good grief, that really is bad.

Paranoia Agent proved you can dub Kon's work well, so what's this dub's excuse?

While I'm glad Tokyo Godfathers is getting new attention that dub really doesn't do it justice.

I've been meaning to watch Gun X Sword for almost 15 years.

Trouble is I'm not really a big mecha guy, but one day.

Honestly it's less to do with mecha and more to do with the characters. I'm not a big mecha guy but it's a really good show.

Crispin Freeman is in the movie, but he got shafted and was given the role of Miyuki's dad.

I still have yet to finish Higurashi: When They Cry, and I only have four episodes yet.

Even if Rika was about to poison Mion, she still is best girl

Correction (if you're not on Kai), you have 28 episodes left, plus nine/ten more if you want to ensure you still have more Higurashi--not counting the reboot/remake coming up. And then there's Umineko if you're still in the Ryukishi07 mood.

For those who still keep tabs on Shonen Jump, I've been reading Undead Unluck:
1 (1).jpg

The art doesn't seem too special at a glance, but I think this one has a genuine chance of avoiding the ax (there's already demand for the first volume release). The man on the right is Undead - he's not a zombie, but an actual immortal with limitless regeneration. The girl on the right is Unluck - direct physical contact with her skin will guarantee that you will suffer a catastrophic death; the longer you touch her, the more improbable the disaster becomes after you let her go. Meteors and volcanoes are not out of the question. Naturally, the undying man is absolutely blitzed at the idea of a someone who can evoke a doom so spectacular, it can cancel out his immortality and grant him the final death he'd been seeking for so long.

They aren't alone though. There's an engineer out there who makes unbreakable weapons, a soldier whose attacks are unavoidable, a fighter who trips you into making unintended mistakes, and so on...

Why do I get the feeling the author made her that way so people wouldn't lewd or make her their waifu?

But yeah, the art style looks Toriyama inspired. Might have to keep an eye out for this one.

On the contrary, the man wants to make love to her. Affection seems to be a multiplier for how disastrous an outcome can get (a kiss on the cheek was enough to summon the aforementioned meteor), but they're still trying to figure the rules out. So far all the battles have been trying to scope out the extent of an enemy's superpower, sort of like stand battles or Nen abilities if everything was based on the "un-" prefix.

EDIT:
Time to see if Dawn of the Deep Soul will air in a theater near you.

Also, it turns out Hideo Kojima just tweeted praise for MiA, and Tsukushi responded in kind. A rare bonding moment between two fucking weirdos:

Was surprised with how bad it looks after how well they handled dubbing millennium actress. I guess it's not too surprising, half the charm of Tokyo godfather's is just how ugly Kon makes the world and in this day they have to sanitize it and make some powerful message by giving Hana to some Tranny whose never been in a recording booth.

It's funny how Kon's work was often about highlighting the less glamorous side of Japan, the polar opposite of the vast majority of anime.

And yet it wasn't done in an obnoxious, off putting way like how modern SJW media is, it's something anime could use more of to be honest.

It's not anime, but Parasite did a really good job of touching on similar elements in South Korea.
