And not only that, but even if her mom did "just stop" one day it wouldn't be something to rely on for inspiration. AL's been waiting for something to "just click" for years now and unfortunately that only happens in movies. If it does happen irl it's extremely rare and it's downright stupid to expect it. Like those addicts who keep waiting to hit rock bottom and do nothing to treat their addiction in the meantime. It's indeed very dramatic and therefore very inspiring when that sudden moment of realization hits a fictional character on TV and they're able to change their entire life with little to no effort with no relapse ever, but 99,99% of the time this is not how life works. If you have serious issues you have to treat them, not indulge in them while you wait for that fateful moment somewhere in the future that will propel you into success overnight.

I can't think of many crimes that would be deserving of being locked up with AL as she goes through full on cunt mode having to survive on a prison diet.

I doubt it. prison has ramen noodles and chips and lots of other junk food. she'd probably be buying other inmate's lunches and food if she saved enough yt money.

Prisoners are strict about their food rules too. Amber would have some problems. It’s not up for grabs just because somebody didn’t eat it.

She’d probably like the food though.
 
theres a store in prison where you can buy some kinds of junk food (I think its called a canteen?), and other things like hygiene products. Some prisons allow some prisoners to order pizza if they can afford it and have good behavior privileges.
