Unfortunately it's the reality that kids of that age now need to know and worry about this stuff. Removing them from the sex ed class will temporarily allow you to ignore that reality or feel like you are shielding your own kids from it but it won't actually change it. I think having the pre-emptive talk with them as others have suggested is probably the best idea.

There’s a big difference between ‘these bits are private, nobody gets to touch you there, tell a trusted adult if they do’ and explicit descriptions of sex given to young children.
Anyone wanting to speak about sexuality or sex in an explicit way to children is grooming them. They do not need to have classes on how to jerk off at school - and before you say ‘well good job nobody is telling them how to’ they ARE. We’ve had at least one class shown here with explicit descriptions of ‘how to’ as well as teaching kids that anal sex exists.
This is wrong. It does NOT keep kids safe. They do NOT need to know all the explicit stuff. Periods, puberty, how to keep safe, reproduction, that’s it. And it should all be very dry and factual. No gender indoctrination, no gay stuff, no porn, no wanking. They are KIDS ffs

A lot of the advise currently in the thread covered what I would have said.
Provided there are only medical diagrams of anatomy and no images / videos of questionable content you should be ok. It may be worthwhile to contact the school to ask for the lesson material upfront to review yourself. This would help at least with the anxiousness, being aware of what your kids are being thought is always a positive thing. For what its worth the material and how it is laid out does not seem to be questionable (provided it is delivered how it is laid out).
From your initial post, your husbands reaction seems a bit strong (to be polite about it). While I don't know fully what you said or how you said things. It may be worthwhile to sit-down and review this calmly together as stability in a marriage is good for both you as a couple and the kids stability growing up.

I don't think me or the other kids my age had any idea porn even existed when we were 9, that was something we only very slowly started finding out in our teens so and for a child's development 5 years is an entire universe worth of difference. An 8 yr old doesn't process things the same as a 14 yr old.
Back then porn was very difficult to access and adults didn't talk about it constantly either so that made it easier to not have it glitch your development, we didn't even have broadband, i assume any 9 yr old who hears a teacher talking about porn today will inmediatly fixate on it and look for it the milisecond they are alone with a smart device in their hand.

Parsing through the hysterical bullshit, what actually happened in all those articles seems to be at worst kids being taught not to touch themselves in public. Which kids absolutely need to be taught because some kids will play with themselves in inappropriate places.
Right wingers have been asspained about schools teaching sex ed, especially comprehensive sex ed, for ages. That's the real reason these hysterical articles exist.
I'm pretty sure I had at least a vague idea porn existed when I was 9 thanks to other kids talking about it and stuff like South Park. This was in the late 90s so no broadband either. Can't say I would've been particularly interested in looking it up on the internet either way since sex and everyone related to it was pretty much the most disgusting thing to me at 9.
Kids shouldn't have access to smart devices without filters either.

Same age we had it in school 20+ years ago, probably varies wildly by country. No porn talk besides "it exists and does not reflect reality", apart from that it was pretty much the same stuff in OP's quotes from what i can remember. I side with @Android raptor here, a lot of parents teach their children jack and shit and i'd rather have my hypothetical kid get a lecture that might be a tad to graphic for their age instead of them knowing too little about when adults/diddlers behave inapropriately with them. I commend them on the "it is not okay for an adult to show a kid porn" part.
Honestly surprised they're seemingly omitting the homo and troon shit, though OP states that might come up in a later lecture.
Edit: I do understand where OP is coming from, i don't think it is right how OP's husband is reacting to it, without wanting to blow his reaction out of proportion, i know how i and girlfriend talk to each other on some topics. Children shouldn't be told about or taught about masturbation that's not "Don't allow anyone to touch your private parts, and don't play with your private parts" by anyone except the parents. And especially no one except parents should be talking to children about porn and the dangers it has on impressionable minds. I don't care that the course claims it'll mention it's wrong for adults to show minors porn and that they're aware of the unsettling statistics of children viewing porn, don't trust them to practice what they preach, they might be making an "exception" for drawings.

You should be insisting on attending the course with your children as a supervisor. If the school is saying you can't, they're outright telling you they're going to groom and indoctrinate your kids.

Might be able to help. Kiddo here got the same "this is what we're teaching" blurb so we asked for clarification.

Not true my partner managed to get a house on his tradie wage at 22, he bought the car outright 30k usd just dropped it like nothing. He isnt even 30 . He makes 50 bucks per call because he is the only one in the factory that knows about certain things. Plenty of guys do the same in his line of work unless they are retarded and spend cash on expensive cars and drugs. He easily outearns any it guy around here because they are salaried not hourly paid.
He can do all this because he doesn't need to to live in bughive meanwhile family members in it have to move to the bughive pay bughive prices and if they are lucky they can have 50 sqm apparment no car no vacations nothing else. Not to mention constant cuts in white collar jobs. Not to mention every single repair costs an arm and a leg. So his money wont stretch far enough unless they are in some rural area or she works.
