Would someone brave care to investigate the use of "adult" as a verb?

It means "act like an adult."

Respectability Politics: Normally it means when a marginalized group acts all nice, polite and obedient towards the dominant group in hopes of getting respect. Now it's more along the lines of minorities (usually black) who think that BLM harassing people, blocking traffic and rioting won't get them anywhere how that's a bad idea. Or when a POC thinks POCs should hold themselves to a higher standard when it comes to crime and other bad things.

Misogynoir: Misogyny against black women.

and then transmisogynoir which is transphobia and misogyny against black women, and just transmisogyny if it's not been mentioned already.

Even though transphobes don't think trans women are women and therefore wouldn't be misogynistic towards them.

Queer Coded/Queer Coding:

Pretty sure Patrick Bateman (i'm assuming that's what she meant when she said "the murderer in American Psycho) is not gay, unless I'm forgetting something. He dresses/acts like that because he's a rich yuppy boy.

That sounds like fancy wine. Can't they just call misogyny specifically towards black women "black misogyny" or something?

And to me, "queer coding" just seems based on stereotypes of gay people. "Oh this character is kinda effeminate. OBVIOUSLY GAY!" I thought LGBT activists were trying to break down these stereotypes.

What you need to understand is SJWs/Tumblrtards/etc. don't care about things like breaking down stereotypes and being treated as normal regardless of demographic/birth traits that are uncontrollable. They want attention and oppression points, so they reinforce stereotypes so they can be the most apparent and "other" person out there.

Any sort of "x coded" is bullshit. It's all stereotypes, instead of being based on the actual definition of whatever they're going on about. To use the sexual orientation example, they then piss and moan if there are characters that are not flaming faggots/whatever and act as if that's "erasure" if it's characters they like. They also tend to go on about "straight passing privilege" or some other bullshit when dealing with real people who aren't necessarily total flaming faggots, ironically "erasing" everyone else as if they're not real members of that demographic. Their hypocrisy is irritating or funny, depending on the situation.

Hate to bump a nearly-dead thread, but I've thought about this a lot; trans woman are not targeted by transphobic misogyny (hatred/distrust of women), but rather transphobic misandry (hatred/distrust of men). Specifically, they are seen "feminine men" who are stepping outside of socially-approved gender roles. Methinks Tumblr doesn't understand how much a social movement geared towards men breaking out of gender roles would actually help men and trans women, let alone how much it would ease "toxic masculinity" (i.e., how male gender roles negatively affect men).

Spoon -- an idiosyncratic metaphor for "physical and/or mental effort". To understand it you have to read a long-ass story. The gist is that people with chronic physical or mental illnesses often feel they have a fixed daily "allowance" of energy. They have to plan their lives so that they would not "run out". To them, having to deal with contingencies is mentally taxing and might provoke emotional outbursts -- Spare me! I don't have the spoon for that! -- Proper Tumblr usage include that time when you are too lazy to do the laundry, and when you pretend you have depression or autism.

Great. So tumblrinas are abusing the Spoon Theory now? Fucking hell.

I know Christine Miserandino from a now-defunct forum she and her friends used to run, and her long-ass story has actually done a lot to help people better understand the physically taxing nature of chronic illness (in general, not just lupus). If you can find any tumblrinas actually using spoons as an excuse for laziness, please point me to them so I can tell them how completely and utterly triggered I am. ;) heh

Yeah spoons theory has been co-opted like fucking crazy by Tumblrinas - they even make those quirky "spoon meters" they post on their blogs as a way to signal to their asskissers when they need attention/how willing they are to put up with being called out on their shit.

Worse, I have a friend who uses the terminology and she's definitely not physically disabled. It's fucking obnoxious.

Pomosexuality: When you're sexually attracted to being a pretentious piece of shit

gynosexuality: Attraction to women (includes Straight men and Lesbians, as well as the 6 gorillion other genders)

androsexuality: Attraction to men (Gay men, Straight women, you know the drill)

Here are the definitions for those.
