If it wasn't for Barb's awful payment habits, we wouldn't be learning all this neat bank/collections stuff.

Thanks Barb!

I'm honestly suprised you all are this interested lol.

ALSO it's probably worthy to note, no matter how this turns out, Barbs credit score is going to be massacred.

Bucket 6 requires a minimum 150 days or 6 missed minimum payments.

From what I understand if C1 dosent act on the debt by 180 days, it's defaulted and is often sold off.
It seems like, based on your information, that Barb has just decided "fuck it, I am not paying them anything".

I don't really buy any of the "the bank watched the begging videos" or "the bank secretly knows she is going to die in 6 months". That seems way too complicated.

A few years ago I lived in a really shitty apartment building. One of my neighbors was a lady Barb's age. She had adopted an attitude of not paying anyone a penny unless she was sued. No rent, no bills, nothing unless she was directly facing serious legal consequences for not paying. Based on these lawsuits, I suspect Barb may be edging towards a similar attitude.

Also as I've said, I have friends in legal.

They know about Chris and his wacky misadventures.

I'm sure word will spread

Would it be at all possible for Barb to transfer ownership of the house to Chris in order to avoid this in probate? This is obviously a particularly stupid idea on her part, but they've proven themselves to be exceptionally foolish. Doing so may strike her as being just the right move to outwit those rat-bastard bankers and debt-collectors.

Until she's threatened with eviction by her new landlord over every petty squabble.

Im not sure, as I am not personally in legal and cant give judgement.

However, if she tries to get rid of her money so she dosent have to pay, itll destroy her credit score even further and pretty much ensure bankruptcy down the line.

Honestly, given Chris's disability status, the house could possibly be put in a trust for Chris's benefit, but Barb would have to pay a lawyer and we know that's not happening.

If the rumors of what they paid Rob Bell are half true Barb is fucking awful at hiring a lawyer. I think @Marvin or someone else said they paid him like $30k on the Michael Snyder deal, which is at the very least three times what anyone I know would charge for that.

Well, Barb also dragged that case out ten times as long as any sane client would have. She essentially just yelled "KEEP FIGHTING IT" at Bell, and as long as the money kept flowing he was more than happy to oblige.

She still got fucked. Anything more than ten grand to take that case all the way to trial is highway robbery IMO. You could maybe say fifteen as a nuisance fee for dealing with Chandlers but even that is awfully high. The only way you can justify shit like that is if your hourly and they're just constantly on the phone with your office. Even if bell charged 300/hour there's no way he spent 100 hours on the Snyder debacle.
