This was already posted here about a week ago, but to answer your question:
  • There are vacancies. At least 19 janitors and 1 moderator have quit in response to the hack/phonebooking, and possibly (probably) more since this email was sent. My rough estimate is that they've lost ≥20% of their active volunteer staff (219 lines in ys4s5k.txt, assume only half of the names on the list are active, 19/109.5 = 17%, round up to 20% to account for any resignations since last week).
  • They cannot open janitor applications for an indefinite amount of time, because they know it would immediately be compromised by sharty sleeper agents.
  • There is a good chance that public-facing janitor applications are never going to come back. This spells a lot of trouble for the site going forward - historically, the retention% for 4chan janitors is dogshit, and it's only going to get worse.

The best part about the hack is knowing that they lied about the email shit and actually use it to track you on the site. So if you want to truly be anoonymous you have to cycle through throwaways every session. Very epic
 
I can't find the comic but it's these white cartoons (kind of like Stonetoss) and they're all wearing cones on their heads and having fun. Then some fags and troons come and put cones on their head too and the original people with the cones throw them away in disgust and leave.

That's how I feel seeing 4chan back. I also feel like everyone on that site didn't even know why it was down. Just niggercattle who did whatever and refreshed until it was back. Or if they did know why (a hack) did no investigation of why, how, or what was leaked.
