Haven't been a channer in 15 years, decided to check in on /b/. It's literally all porn now. Nothing even remotely funny.
I've tried going to /v/ and the amount of Twitter screenshot threads is just fucking sad.

I'm also sure that bots there don't even bother to pretend they are not bots, a lot of replies are just "people" typing with perfect grammar who reply a contrarian opinion to whatever you posted. If you spend two consecutive days there you'll see the same responses to the same threads. The only threads that gather attention are the ones that are made despite already having a /vg/ equivalent.

Should I even bother coming here and complaining about how bad /co/ has gotten. Look I know they're one of the most autistic boards on the site but at least a few years ago there would be industry leaks or cool behind the scenes shit. I was baffled checking the board after the Shrek 5 trailer dropped and seeing nothing but fucking ai slop and soft core porn. I just wanted to read anons calling the trailer fake and gay or something it's all so tiresome. These days I just use Lolcow farm or here to read reactions to animation and shit.

It's also visible in the overall culture of the website, which has skewed super left wing in a distinctly "autistic teenager" sort of way. You can open any thread on 4chan today and find kids having meltdowns about how AI is depleting the Earth's water supply, random posts relating orange man or capitalism to the topic at hand, etc. Gives you a window into how unhealthily politically obsessed the average child is in 2026 actually
I think this is mostly just justified chud fatigue since if you’re not performatively outraged by culture war and try to have even the most milquetoast nuance of opinion about anything, entire threads descend into a witch hunt to out hypothetical tranny jews. Besides, the most blatantly underage political spergs are shartyfags.

Okay, which one of you was it?

/b/ has been a cesspit since the beginning, but recently it's become totally unusable. The porn on there seems to mostly be NSFL shit that isn't allowed on the porn boards.

everything on the internet is bots and 4chan was ahead of the curve and was full of bots 10 years ago. it's like reddit, but for entities that don't have enough money to pay facebook to manipulate discourse so they have to do it the hard way by paying indian bot nets to brute force the opinions of skeptical and retarded third worlders. it's the unternet

/sp/ is in a sad state for the World Cup. While still out of habit to visit during a big event for myself all I see is seething about everything from the host countries to endless porn. The only ok threads are the late night matches that are tolerable.
I'm going to reminisce like a crusty old faggot but man, /sp/ circa the early 2010's was so much fucking fun. The 2010 WC, individual game threads. I remember Dirk and the Mavericks beating Lebron and the mods stickied a picture of crying Lebron for like a week as people spawned tons of silly photoshops and OC.

Every big sporting event was like this. The World Cup and Olympics were always big standouts too. I remember the US beating Canada in hockey in the group stages (2012 I think?) and the USA USA USA spam got so bad across the whole site that it was spread basically everywhere and mods had to shut down the party.

I remember USA BEATS ENGLAND and the endless memes that day.

I remember there was an anon who used to stream Legends of the Hidden Temple, Guts, and Double Dare on late nights and me and my friends were regulars so he gave us mos status in his chat while people shitposted about what Legend of the Hidden Temple team you repped.

I remember how alot of teams had resident tripfags and theyd bicker and shitfling in game threads and it was one of the few places on 4chan tripfagging was "acceptable."

I remember >ISHYGDDT and Costanza posting.

I remember the 4chan cup and trying to get an /sp/ GOAT FC Scarf from an anon in europe who had made them.

/sp/ was so much fucking fun. It was that pure, concentrated sports hooliganism and buffoonery and there was nowhere more fun to be on the internet for a big sporting event.

I go back now and it's just a shadow of what it is. It's all just porn and aislop spam. The lingo sucks. The memes suck. The users are mostly kids or legit schizo tier fanatics.

Sometimes you get some hooliganism but its a shadow of what it once was. The Knicks winning the finals barely lasted a day or two on the board before even the basketball people moved on and stopped caring.

I'll say what so many others in this thread have said before me; I miss board culture and hate how mods and the normalization of the internet has killed it.

/sp/ used to feel like a genuine community of hooligans.

Now its just any other sports forum except you can post porn and scream the n word.

I'm borderline impressed how 4chans moderation has simultaneously gotten way more strict while the general quality of discussion has gone to shit. I stopped using 4chan or even lurking because every thread is either culture war garbage or needlessly aggressive assholes picking fights for the sake of picking fights. Efort posting is pointless because you inevitably just attract spergs looking to pull you into a forever debate until the thread 404s. 4chan was never a Mensa convention but people used to at least have fun on there.
The problem with current 4chan moderation isn't its strictness specifically. There were always weird mods who had specific obsessions and would make bizarre decisions (to the point of "mods are asleep post X"). But generally, at least during the "prime" period of the site, you could usually dodge these mods.

But now it's more of a syndicate of mods who do not participate in the site, at all, don't give a shit about it, so you have jeets who delete anything critical of jeets, troons who delete anything critical of troons, and literal redditors, the vermin of humanity.

Meanwhile, absolutely worthless schizos can spam gibberish and completely destroy popular threads.
And there you have it, folks. /mu/ is a dead-ass board.
That's because at some point it turned into nothing but a "your favorite band sucks you idiot Jew" board.
I'll say what so many others in this thread have said before me; I miss board culture and hate how mods and the normalization of the internet has killed it.
The mods used to be members of the community. They may have had their weird idiosyncracies but on some level intended to maintain some minimal quality of discussion. The current mods are deranged ideologues with absolute contempt for the community. Hence, they have driven off the actual population that made 4chan a culturally influential site.
Should I even bother coming here and complaining about how bad /co/ has gotten. Look I know they're one of the most autistic boards on the site but at least a few years ago there would be industry leaks or cool behind the scenes shit.
This was one of the boards that earliest turned into absolute shit and started being called /co/mblr.
/b/ has been a cesspit since the beginning, but recently it's become totally unusable. The porn on there seems to mostly be NSFL shit that isn't allowed on the porn boards.
I think one of the first and worst steps towards the degeneracy of 4chan was the influx of people who thought /b/ was 4chan. Instead of a containment board for deranged retards. As the meme went, /b/ was never good. I mean it used to be fun to take a dive into it from time to time, and there was usually at least one good thread about some deranged, almost certainly made up greentext, but it's literally a complete void now. Just shit and porn. Mods do nothing.

Ostatnio edytowane:
I remember /sp/ being at the cutting edge of memes that would spread site-wide and now that’s gone. Every board culture is dead.

Right now on /tv/ is real, unironic, actual shills for Citizen Vigilante being available to watch on X with the most transparent “hello, fellow based bros!” astroturfing I’ve ever seen. Not watching your movie, Uwe.
