Today I am making the decision to pretty much permanently stop drinking alcohol and go sober as I really need the anarchist revolutionary discipline to fight fascists and capitalism. This decision is all my own accord and no external pressure and no internal guilt from drinking problems on my end.

Prior to this announcement, I only drinked alcohol as a social drinker. Like my average is anywhere between 2-4 drinks a month (mostly hard cider or some vodka) And half to majority of the time I don’t purchase my own alcohol. In my past I have had my moments where I have been depressed and downed an entire bottle of wine in despair only to black out and throw it all up later. The last time I was that drunk was on my father’s 70th birthday while I was still houseless (I would be housed one month) . I downed an entire bottle of Shiraz from 7-Eleven near Reed College.

Also drinking alcohol never caught on for me consistently - I actually started drinking when I was 23 and I just been too distracted by other things, whether it be political unrest or houselessness to bother enjoying a drink.

I am seeking support for this decision to be a sober vegan Antifa Supersoldier from all my friends and comrades. I seek to remain on task and apply personal discipline to focus on all the necessary anticapitalist and antifascist work that must happen.

As for cannabis use:
I am still going to vape marijuana or do edibles once in a while, if only tattoos and defense item spending didn’t eat up my disposable income budget. I am less keen on smoking bowls per se but eh.

Subcomandante Izzy Hell Araujo will still have her ways of getting dizzy when she needs to self medicate - just alcohol is out cuz I am Antifa and must be on guard in this authoritarian shithole.

But I will always accept empty bottles cuz for either recycling it for cash or the next revolution or riot.
