John sounds like someone's crack addicted cousin.
"C'mon, I just need a few more grand! I know I said last time that I'd never ask again, but I NEED IT!"

Totalling your second Porsche is the universe’s way of telling you that you’re an utter wastrel

’... To lose one parent, Mr. Wu, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.’

then e-begging to fix it. We live in a post shame society 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve known people with gambling debts who ask for money less frequently than this.
Allegedly, over 50% of the job if you're in politics in Washington is asking people for money. Legislators spend literally half, if not more, of their time involved in asking people for money and thanking people for the money they've donated.

Wu's certainly got that part down. He does fuck-all work for his campaign anyway, so signing off on a begging email is the least amount of work he can do to try and raise funds, as he's most likely lying when he talks about making phone calls, but, along with tweet-begging is also at least half of what he's doing in the little time he actually 'works'.

She’s not in Washington.
No, but she's LARPing as if she is, even though she's only running in a primary. It wouldn't be surprising to find out that Wu decided to google 'what jobs will let me beg for personal funds as work' and politician was at the top of that list.
