Tom's been contacted by some rando on Facebook who claims to be a poor farmer from Gaza. Ever the one to virtue signal he took the bait.
The Scam:

So currently Tom is attempting to bribe a charity to act as his proxy to smuggle goods out of the west bank.

Is it a day ending in "y?"

If so, Tom did something even dumber than his hourly shitting of his own pants.

I swear, this motherfucker could be scammed by Pinocchio. I bet the scammers pass his details around, all like, “Yeah, this guy’s good for a few hundo. He’s really senile and super-racist, so just act like a naive foreigner in need.”

Questions I pose to @Miss Tommie Jayne Wasserberg in his own interests:

1. Who is “Abdul” and what qualifies him for this? Have you ever met him in person? Do you have proof that he is who he says he is? If he scammed you, could you identify him to law enforcement?

2. How do you know there is olive oil or indeed anything in that can?

3. What do you know about the conditions of manufacture of that oil, and the olives it’s made from? Have you visited the farm or the factory? Could you?

4. How much do you know about olive oil in general? The cooking ingredients industry is a big one, and you’d be up against major players. Not to mention the liability if the product made anyone sick, or was not as described.

5. I note that there are at least a couple of potential pitfalls in actually getting this oil to the USA. What do you think the chances are that these will require you to make several payments to shady parties before you even see any oil? Is it possible that Abdul, in fact, has no oil and is just screwing you out of your money?

Why doesn't Abdul sell his olive oil at the giant open air bazaars that operate all over Gaza? No, no, I'm being dumb again. It makes much more economical sense to ship it halfway across the world.

Reading the title, I thought someone convinced Tom to buy an oil well or something. This is far stupider.
I thought this as well. We are fools to assume it would take something complicated to trick Tom.
Can't wait for the Palestinian Piss Jugs to be full of piss.

Just took a quick look around the internet. Olive oil usually comes in nice 35lb / 17L food service totes. Stackable and in a box, not sitting on some grimy towel unsealed. From this website, 156.45 USD each. If you buy 8+ im sure you get a bulk discount, and if you are an actual business you will have a loading dock or a forklift. This cuts your freight rate down quite a bit. Shipping anything from overseas, especially the Middle East right now, is insane.
A result of a google

What? How does any of this make sense? It doesn’t. Even Chris wouldn’t fall for this.
Tom's quite possibly the dumbest cow for one reason; he'll fall for any scam that treats him like he's a big serious business man. If it strokes his ego right he'll nod his head until he realizes he's the mark, not the profiteer. Then out of shame and an inability to admit fault he simply makes up a delusion for how it fell apart. The last time they were "CIA agents" or some such nonsense.

16L for $130 == $8.12/L
Screenshot_20221128-085155-275.png
$97/12L == $8.08/L
$150/18L == $8.33/L

So Tom's Palestinian gas can gutter oil is either more expensive or almost the same price as bulk oil from a reputable distributor before shipping for him. And he intends to sell this and make a profit off the top somehow.
