He was already informed about the farms, probably a week ago. The deed was done.

He reported us to the FBI and then forgot we existed.

In any case, without getting into an overly long discussion, I think informing the subject is justified if the following two conditions have been met:
1) The thread has existed a while without the subject knowing.
2) The subject is guaranteed to chimp out.

Both conditions have been met here. Of course, we should judge on a case-by-case basis... and I have no problem with telling 03bgood at this time.
