I don't know if this is the real reason since I don't really care about internet art related things, but maybe they "don't know" how to colour the skin really is their (artists) way of saying "We don't know how to do it without you insufferable cunts bitching about it and finding a new way to cry 'racism' so we just avoid doing it altogether."

As Ya Boi Zack keeps pointing out, all the very-serious-wokies keep coloring their blacks fucking PURPLE. Some sort of cross between terrified to use racial tropes + bisexual lighting, I'm guessing.

One of those How-To-Draw-Manga books that were popular a few decades back coming out of Japan, "How to Draw Pretty Girls" I think, basically did each sketch three times -- once as a normal character, one as a European, once as an African. If Tumblr ever saw that they'd have an aneurism.
Also:
Literal fucking Tumblr art. Weird as fuck hair, drunken red nose, random clipart tattoos, edgieboi jewelry out of the early 90s. Only thing they're missing is stretch marks and a down-with-cis shirt.

I always love this counterargument because it sweeps under the rug a very prominent hypocrisy: the pro-capitalist people they argue against tend to support local businesses, while the "anti-capitalists" they are will buy the most expensive products to support multi-national corporate conglomerate hegemonies.
Sure, you're "forced to participate" in it, but if you're so against it, you wouldn't act in a way that perfectly encapsulates the very thing you hate, especially when even people who are for it are doing better jobs at not supporting the system than you are.

One, who is complaining about that?
Two, people will find a way to complain about Black skin tone being "blackface." Do it too dark, you're doing blackface. Do it too light, you're "whitewashing" Black people. In between, "do all persons of color look the same to you?" Hell, they just proved my point by the guy asking why does the Black character look "gray."
