Thinking back, I just realized that "edgy" nowadays is referencing Alex Jones, Chris-chan, and conspiracy theories. Back in the day, edgy was making racist, homophobic jokes and posting death threats and crime scene photos on 4chan.

E: I also never understood the "Horrifying" reaction icon until I started reading Chris-chan shit again. I'm pretty sure the icon is an un-clit ring. Horrifying.

I think you can be a little edgy like that as long as you have nobody you care about in the blast radius and nothing to lose. I'm more talking about shouting out degenerates like us or imageboards than making an inside joke here or there. Sios final yab was letting trolls know she was reading their posts. Beatani is the only chuuba I know that can handle that schizo energy but she is also legitimately more menhera than her fans.

In my humble opinion as someone who doesn't produce youtube content, I think being overtly edgy to pander to 4chan users is probably a bad idea in the long run because no fanbase associated with 4chan can survive longer than a couple months before collapsing into a neutron star of autism and untreated schizophrenia as normal people get exhausted and quietly leave while schizos have limitless stamina and capacity. They're a broke as fuck demographic that will turn instantly the moment you cross some stupid political red line like chinese people. I don't see the point of it if you're able to cultivate a buffer of normies and can fly under the radar like pewdiepie and jontron after they learned from their mistakes. I haven't seen any examples of content creators that have a 4chan fanbase that turn out well over time but I got no idea how to find this mythical "well adjusted person who can take a joke" ideal demographic.

On the JP side of things, there's a good reason why very few mainstream vtubers will admit to using 2ch (Pekora has it bookmarked lol) even though it's still the biggest vtuber discussion forum. The huge burst of attention that comes from being /ourgirl/ quickly dissipates and antis will eventually find something to nail you on. Kusunoki Sio is an example of this (although her own actions were the catalyst for her downfall). Acknowledging the existence of 2ch/4ch is like looking at a street junkie straight in the eye when walking outside. You became a part of their reality and now you get to deal with the consequences.

Pandering is stupid no matter who does it or for what reason imo but I do think we need to accept the reality that there probably are at least some of these vtubers you describe as edgy who actually are from 4chan. 4chan got weirdly popular around the time the occupy wall street movement was going on and even though it's still widely regarded as the asshole of the internet, it's had a tremendous influence on how people think and act online in the last decade.
I'm sure there are a lot of tards who just pretend to be 4chan-tier retarded to pander, but I also believe there are some out there who are just like us in that they aren't "acting" like a /b/tard they really are /b/tards.

TL;DR: I have received what is essentially a complete archive of Yuni Luna's Discord server. The logs contain some pretty interesting and funny new information/insight. Some highlights are below, including potential juicy information about a staff member of Phase Connect, as well as a deeper look into her family situation. Also, the word 'fag' is "always at the tip of (her) tongue ready to slip out." That is an actual quote. I did not make that up. Go to the bottom-most spoiler and look for yourself.

For context, I was contacted and given these logs by a person who claims to have been in the server for months. They used the Discord Chat Exporter to do it, and it was compiled on August 3rd of this year at around 11 P.M. EST. I am going to keep them anonymous.

They also sent me a decent amount of screenshots encompassing some of the interesting/important stuff, since there's no way in hell that I was going to be able to go through all of the logs just to find the important shit. It's a very active and relatively big server.

The parts are compressed .7z files, and I am hosting each one on a different Mega account.
(free accounts have a limited amount of upload storage available. If anyone has any alternative file hosting sites that I could use to make backup mirrors without needing to pay, please let me know and I'll do it as soon as I can.)

When both are extracted, the total file size comes to around ~23 gigabytes. There is a very good reason for this large size: the archive includes local copies of practically EVERY piece of media that has been shared in the server. Every image, video, gif, or pretty much any other type of attachment is completely preserved for posterity within the folder that correlates to the text channel. Like I said earlier, I haven't gone through most of it, so there's probably some gems in there that I haven't found.

To access the main log archives, just open the HTML file using the web browser of your choice.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let's look at some of the interesting things that my contact sent screenshots of, shall we?

It seems like it was a running joke for a while to call Yuni a bunny. From what I gather, it started when she briefly rebranded to AsylaTV months before the Pippa debut. It stemmed from the fact that her design had ears that looked like a rabbit's to some, and people began to tease her about it.

So, it might be a possibility that her Phase Connect character being a rabbit was in-part influenced by the running joke. Or it could be a retarded rrat. You be the judge.

This one is severe tonal-whiplash in comparison to the rest of the more light-hearted stuff in this post. It's genuinely sad and a real downer. Fuck this hurt to read. I dont think anyone doubted she read the thread so let me say this as some random mother fucker on the internet

Families can be shit. One second everything is going well the next your dad crashes his car into your moms to stop her from running away. You have to deal with them when they go on pill benders and almost die. you have to go into bars as a 12 yo and pull their drunk asses out and drive them home. You have to stop yourself from attacking them because of the years of bullshit you've put up with. Your constantly guilted into thinking its your fault for wanting to leave or make something of yourself or pursue what you want to pursue. You try and move out and are worried that something is going to happen while your gone because of all the times you had to roll someone on their side or drive them to the ER. You think your siblings would get along with you but they dont and you see them becoming the person they hate and what's more terrifying is despite doing everything to not end up like your parents, you start to.

Yuni or anyone else it isnt your fault and you shouldn't have to be responsible for your grown ass families lives. Its not fair to you.

I can definitely relate with her when it comes to the nieces / nephews stuff. I have siblings that had kids way too young who treat their children like a hindrance to their life. It's heart wrenching to see kids treated as annoying pets rather than as humans, let alone kids.
