Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

If it's not an anime boob game why would Sony censor it for the 3DS?

It's not even their game or platform!

Glad people are still talking about MGSV because I want to say Kojima needlessly pissed away a big portion of his budget on stupid retro music that nobody asked and was never a staple of the series while dumping a series staple that was real world firearms. Also all those years of development and only two biomes was bullshit. Not a fan of his artistic direction and I think Konami was right to fire him for his misdirection.

How does anyone take MGSV seriously when it has literal hologram technology, despite being set in the 80s? As silly as MGS3 was at least it used gadgets that were timely in concept but anachronistic in design (flying platforms) or only anachronistic by a few years (Hind).
Yeah now that you mention it MGSV was weird like that. Didn't notice that to be honest, just sorta saw past it. I also thought MGS was just like that, MGSV was my first.

Nuke Mechs, Cyborg Ninjas, Invisibility Cloaks, Psychics, Shamen, Nanomachines, Vampires, Mediums, Bumblebee Men, 100 year old Snipers...and it was the holograms that got to you?

To be fair to you though, Peace Walker was about the time I realized that Metal Gear Solid had thoroughly gone to shit with it's goofy AI plot.

At least I can just not use the shit in MGS V.

Fan made mods and patches do not make a shit game great, nor should they be an excuse for bad developers. Bethesda's been making the same fucking game since Morrowind and never bothered to learn how to QA their shit game engine. Small glitches and shit I can excuse, but destroying save files, upside down dragons, and their own patches breaking even more shit should not be excused because someone (or a team of someones) decided to fix their bullshit. Bethesda is a shit developer and the constant excuses people gave them is what gave rise to Fallout 76, where the always online stopped people from being able to fix Bethesda's problems and they could finally see what a shit development studio they are (and they had the gall to act shocked when Bethesda stumbled everything leading up to it, to include the IRL pre-order bonuses and other shit. Get someone to knit you a new kevlar bag or whatever for free, bitch). Bethesda only knows how to serve up shit sandwiches, and people telling you that the cook next door can scrape the shit off doesn't suddenly make them a good restaurant, and you get what you fucking deserve.

If anything, that shows the advantage of PC gaming. Developer won't fix their games, the community will. If there is a community. Having said that, there is no excuse to release games broken only to "patch it later." The occasional bug I understand, but not a Day 1 patch that you couldn't iron out from Q/A.

Most of the games have a near-future thing going on, though, so the schizo tech doesn't stick out as much. If I was playing MGS3 and The Boss whipped out an iPad I'd think that was dumb too.

I get where you're coming from, but she does whip out a gun with infinite ammo simply because the drum looks like an infinity sign.

All I'm saying is MGS was dumb a long time before MGS V.

I'm the only one that enjoys Mount and Blade's multiplayer over the single player. Playing seige maps was something special. I only bought M&B2 for the multiplayer and am salty it's dead.

I spent more time in the Napoleonic Wars multiplayer than any other map and I'm salty it died. Holdfast isn't as fun with it's shit melee combat.

I kind of get annoyed by gun autists getting anal about guns in video games. Especially when it comes down to animation quirks that you don't even notice unless you slow everything down and look for them.

I would have thought this wouldn't be unpopular, but when I mentioned it in another thread I got a lot of shit for calling them autists for it.

As much as I think Shovel Knight is a good game, I find it incredibly annoying how frequently his mug is featured in indie game crossovers. He's basically the slut of the indie game world. Any dev studio who will pass Yacht Club a few bucks gets a pass, regardless of the game's actual quality.
