Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Although I understand the intent of silent protagonists, it always frustrates me. Like, they're not really characters when they don't utter a single word. Situations where its appropriate for them to talk, they never do. It's always their allies that pretty much talk for them, as if they're their parental figures, and that's not an exciting thought.
Characters like Mario or Link as you mentioned, you'll never learn what they official talk like or what their personality is, because Nintendo is very cautious about their characters since they're afraid of going down SEGA's path.
what if the character is canonically mute?

It's understood that the character is 'talking', but they can only communicate to the player through gestures.

Mario in Mario RPG can't make a sound, so he has to act out all of his 'dialog' in mime, including doing an impression of Bowser.

The new company of heroes game will be mediocre at best and absolute shit at worst.
CoH1 and Dawn of war still blow most modern games out of the water well after a decade.
It may seem like a milquetoast opinion but on the comment section of the trailer there is shilling in full force and I can't stand it, we're just heading for another DOW3 and the retards are applauding it.

These aren't unpopular opinions. I haven't looked at the Indonedians hired from fiver posting youtube comments, but if you look at the Steam comments or the official forum for the CoH3 early release demo you'll see the reaction is split to those who dislike the game, and those with "forum badges" and "Sega ambassador accounts" making excuses for the game.

As for the second point, CoH1 and Dawn of War are probably the most highly regarded RTS games not developed by Blizzard or Westwood (or named Age of Empires).

Anyone who likes Resident Evil Village fell for the mommy milkies meme and are left with a shitty product that is inferior to RE7 and 4. Its basically the series' version of Darling in the FRANXX, carried by meme waifus while the latter half of the product is shit, there are even akin similarities like the shoehorning of aliens and the shoehorning of Umbrella Corp on the near ending, as if we have not learned from RE5 and 6 that following that route is what made RE fall from grace in the first place.
Resident Evil's main appeal is the waifus IMO. In spite of its reputation as a major pillar in the survival horror genre, it never reached the level of poop-your-pants nightmare fuel that Silent Hill or Amnesia did.

Also, Lady Dimitrescu is hideous.

Lady Di is fairly worthless as a character. I don't know what's going on with her motion-capture, but any given screenshot could be a different person; her features vary from scene to scene.

My own feeling is it's a niche series (which is fine) with pretentions of being "mainstream," like so many other IPs these days.

And said pretentions of being mainstream are really fucking it up and making it unappealing, unfortunately, unless they do something like alternating parallel games. Well, unappealing to me anyway. Seems like most people are perfectly happy with the direction it's going, fortunate for them, unfortunate for those of us who liked that niche it occupied before. Best outcome I can hope for is they'll make the remakes almost entirely separate from the newer series because those still do have that appeal. Seven was okay, eight lost my interest but RE2 remake [and RE3 remake too if it had been more faithful to source material] were pretty solid. It shows they're still capable of going in the right direction, but if they fuck up the CV remake I'm out.

Veronica is not getting a remake unless they get rid of Alfred.

Ground Control 1 is the best RTS ever. No saves, no base building, efficient artillery. You have to think when playing that game, not click 120 times per second to build more pylons.

World in Conflict was also alright.

I'm just impressed how much work went into texturing the bottoms of her feet.
