Thanks, I've already read stuff like that when the subject first reared its head. The point I was trying to make really was him, if the "service dog" garment tweet is to be believed, trying to pass the puppy off as an actual "service dog"...I know he's stupid but a dog/puppy trained in under 5 months, really? As has been discussed, there are rules and regulations around service dogs and service-dog training. The non-legalese/TLDR from the BC gubmint are:
Key takeaways:
- Strata bylaws and rental terms prohibiting or restricting pets apply to certified dogs-in-training
- Dog and handler teams carrying government certificates are well trained and often assessed.
- If the dog is misbehaving after you have talked with the handler, you can require them to leave.
- The Guide Dog and Service Dog Act makes it an offense to represent a dog as belonging to a guide or service dog team when it does not. A person convicted of the offense faces a fine of up to $3,000.
- The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act makes it an offense to interfere with or harm a guide or service dog. A conviction may result in a fine or violation ticket.
- The Guide Dog and Service Dog Act makes it an offense to represent a dog as belonging to a guide or service dog team when it does not. A person convicted of the offense faces a fine of up to $3,000.
So.... Big Jess has a dog with a "Training" vest on. Even if JJYS were certified (which is a fantasy), Strata pet rules would apply. Abuse of the animal by JJYS has been observed. If JJYS were certified, there would be paperwork to back it up. I can't find anything in the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act that requires a person claiming certification to provide proof upon request, nor can I see anything that prohibits it.
There is a complaint form online should any concerned citizens or witnesses wish to alert the authorities to any violations of the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act.
LR claims the neighbours just gossip and very rarely, if ever, take any action re yaniv and his actions.

Maybe the neighbours are impotent and incapable of taking action, or maybe they understand the situation.
They are dealing with Jonathan.
Sure, they could "take action" and complain and start working on kicking him out of the building. Something that would take years, at best, especially during covid.
Years and years while they have a huge target painted on them and will have to spend ungodly amount of time defending themselves on social media, in small claims court, at the human rights shit and at regular court.
Maybe it is just safer and easier to just keep your head down and pretend Jonathan does not exist, and just wait out the arrival of bus 41 to take him away.
Yeah, I can understand that but people tolerating him, from a kid to an adult, has contributed to his behaviour of today. Easy for me to say I know but something has to give with this bloke.
I am still amazed that he hasn't had his face smashed in before now.
