Ok then fair enough.
There was a guy on the first stream who told him he will give him a big support if he puts it on hard, so he did cause you know... GREED. GREED. IS. MASSIVELY. STRONG.

So after that the guy said he wont pay cause he meant very hard... so dsp put it on very hard to show how full of shit the guy is. And I guess he was too lazy to change it back? i dunno.

He also hates rollback netcode for the most retarded reasons, and since that will be the standard going forward, DSP might as well pack up his backs and shelter himself in Super Turbo, until that gets rollback too (not counting Fightcade).
If he hates rollback that much, yeah he's going to have to really stay in ST.

Phil on Fightcade would be fucking hilarious though if he were to ever give it a chance. He'd likely forget to turn the in game chat off or not be able to figure out how to, and just get spammed with retarded shit.

Holy shit, this guy is talking about Indian food like he just discovered it and must tell the rest of the human race about it.

He loves it so much, it makes me wonder if he’s gonna start saying that he just found out he’s part Indian.

He also said something about how most Americans don’t know about Indian food because it’s one of those cuisines that’s not really “socially acceptable”, and then lists other middle eastern/Asian countries. Motherfucker, it’s one of the most popular cuisines in the country, and the world. I mean, it is THE most popular cuisine in the UK. (it was the last time I looked, anyway)
Once again, Phil using this as an excuse to bestow his "wisdom" to the unwashed masses to stroke his chub of an ego. I hope one of his chat members tells him to STFU, since it's quite likely that everyone there has had Indian food before. But oh no, this is PHIL. He has to be the one to tell you how good it is. You don't know how good it is, because you're not Phil.

Mr Lifelong Gamer just said that exhausting all dialogue with your brain in New Vegas is "stupid". Reminds me of when he said the same thing about talking to people in the tavern in Divinity. Good RPGs are truly wasted on this faggot.

Something odd happened... Phil said the classic line "No one is talking to me... What happened? Why everyone is silent?". Then, a few minutes later, he gets two $10 tips basically saying some useless shit (didn't pay attention).

Is that what Phil is referring to "no one is talking right now"? I don't think Phil is doing this on purpose, but it's really weird how they had to tip to talk to him, even tough the chat is 100% dead... Some weird shit...

Edit: Btw, the 2 tips were from known whales, Modapox and Shaokonartist87.

I am a noob when it comes to fighting games (only played some SF 2, Virtua Fighter and Smash) but can you or someone else tell me if Street Fighter 2 is as great as Phil thinks it is in his gin brain - compared to other fighting games? Is it really that well designed? The reason is that from my memory I didn't find Street Fighter 2 that in-depth or complicated. It's not a diss because I am aware of the technical limitations back in the day. In other words: watching (him playing) SF bores the fuck out of me. It just looks lame. I hope he gets fucked up in a new fighting game.
Christ yes. You scrubs. And @lsb can eat my ass, Super Turbo is fine. (I'm just kidding, you are a cool dood and I miss your SF streams)

SF2, is Chess to the rest of the genre's Warhammer or Kings of War. Super Turbo is very basic, but it doesn't need any thing more. It got played for 20 years for a reason. And the only reason it got dropped is because it isn't as much fun to watch.

The analogy holds because it is a game that is mostly worked out in the broad strokes and people win or lose on little execution errors. Which has its own sort of fun to watch, but you have to be super autistically into the genre, where something like learning a certain move on a certain button, beats another move that you thought wasn't beatable, is exciting. Thats the fun of Super Turbo, at a competitive level.

Also playing it, the high damage, is another draw. As fighters get more and more reliant on combos, damage goes down and there are players who feel left out. Like, any game this is the case. Once a majority decides some mechanic as outdated, the remaining minority gets left out in the cold. And I genuinely enjoy button gameplay as opposed to combos. Its why I play a lot of SamSho. Not to say some SF2 mechanics are perfect. Random values are a good idea, that people just didn't want. The conceit being that Capcom wanted the game to not be 100% the same every time. Its a very very old problem in game design. There is an old PC war game that does something similar in that it makes the last turn random to stop some of the gamier moves like sacrificing all your troops to win the battle. But, I never feel it ruins SF2, like tripping does in SSBB

This is also not to say that Phil is right, or even excuse him. Every game should not be more like SF2. He is just a dipshit chasing his glory years. In a game he wasn't super great at anyway. He isn't bad. SF2 just allows for autistically studying the match ups and responses. And while I think its important that game exists, not every game should be that.

The funny thing about Dave refusing to play Super Turbo on Fightcade is that old-school legends like Alex Valle and John Choi actually have been playing Super Turbo and other games on there. They'd likely accept any challenge from Phil but he'd be too pussy to play them.

Yes, he was okay at Super Turbo in 2007, but the level of play has risen since then. Lots of tactics and option selects and other things have been discovered. There are a lot of players that are going hard in the game and would absolutely take Phil's lunch. He would be lucky if he took games off players like damdai, Hokuto, SuperrV, etc. But of course, he doesn't want to actually play good players, he wants to look good beating up on scrubs, which is why he sticks to the 30th Anniversary Collection, trying to get in wins on scrubs until gojitenks invades his lobby, at which point he runs. It's the same thing that happened with VF5US, where he was having a good time beating up on scrubs who didn't know how to block his elbow-sweep spam with Shun, but once he started running into players who knew how to deal with that, he wasn't having fun anymore and quit the game forever.

All very true. This is why he'll never enjoy another fighting game; he only plays a few hours on stream. He never puts in any effort that isn't on camera, so he'll always get fucking dominated in pvp, even just days after launch. He'll always have a bucket of excuses to pull from too:
-The netcode is TRASH
-I have to move on to other stuff
-This is too complex, I only like "fundamentals"
-The update RUINED this game
-Whatever the negative general consensus around a new fighting game is, he'll exaggerate to extremes

This is ALL his chat consists of now. Joe sneak dissing about 300 dollars a day being normal, Blenderbottle telling him his stream quality is literal shit and Jakileez/Snowkarl treating Phil like a disabled child they're responsible for. Oh, and he's got 150 viewers.

Rock bottom. Or close enough.

Added a new dynamic tracking element onto the spreadsheet that I think should work pretty well as a surrogate "whaling" marker: average amount tipped (total tips divided by total transactions).

Basically, average number going up indicates a smaller amount of large tips (whaling), while number going down indicates a larger amount of small tips.

Theoretically if a whale gave $1.30 ten thousand times you could force a low average so that's the only weakness I can see with this model, but should work decently under usual conditions I think. Also when mrminecraftish1 spergs out and does a billion little tips that kind of fucks with it too.

I'm thinking there's some way to make a true "whale index" per month using derivatives of the raw data but I bullshitted my way through calculus unfortunately ☹️

It's kind of always been like this. Even on Twitch when he had a more active chat he would berate them for talking about anything other than him playing whatever game it happened to be, which basically meant "why aren't you fuckers tipping me?" You were only guaranteed an acknowledgment if it was a cheer or a tip attached to your message.

Phil has mentioned not hitting the tips goal 3 times in the 10 minutes i've been watching this shitty stream.

Edit: 4 times now

Hey, today we didn't have a SilentBahb or OneMinuteMan tip? Woah, that's interesting, because we had VestMonster tipping $25 today and not saying anything! Another coincidence: $25 is usually what OneMinuteMan, WetNurse or Pookie usually tips.

Anyway, nothing interesting... Just pointing out that some whale migh be changing tatics since it was so obvious. Or not, idk lol

The name makes me think it was one of them because it uses the same type of capitalization and no spacing between words. Weird thing was that there was a pop-up for it which is unusual right?

Correct. Altough OiC already proved, unintentionaly, that they can tip with and without pop-ups (he tipped twice in one stream, one with and one without the pop-up).

Also, a few streams ago, Phil snitched him accidentaly when he said that OiC is present on streams, but doesn't talk and just do the moderation 'behind-the-scenes'.

Sidenote: Phil is using the Vest Streak guit trip to bait tips... AGAIN.
