It's probably some correlation with the autism required for the job and the current internet zeitgeist. I was talking with a friend about the overrepresentation of troonery among computer science things, with an emphasis on programming gigs (pro or not) and we both just ended up agreeing it's likely that autists' social ineptitude makes them much more susceptible to people encouraging them to go trans and hang out with other degenerates. The tranny communities are filled with bullies who prey on weak-willed people and autists like these are weak-willed in every aspect except the one thing they are all in on. If you let them focus on that one thing then they're usually content overall.

An anecdote. An autistic guy I grew up with fur-trooned out hard core and his meds fucked him up so he has the shakes now so he basically never leaves his house and has been a NEET forever, he can't even work online remotely due to his inability to type very well due to the shakes.
