250 Gators Removed From Walt Disney World Since 2016 Attack On Boy

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Wildlife officials have removed 250 alligators from Disney properties in the five years since a 2-year-old boy was killed by an alligator at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, a newspaper reported.

The company has worked with trappers contracted through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove the gators, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Most of the nuisance gators taken from Disney properties are euthanized and sold for their hide and meat, Tammy Sapp, spokeswoman for the wildlife agency, told the newspaper.

Some are also transferred to alligator farms, animal exhibits and zoos, she said. Those less than 4 feet (1.2 meters) are relocated, she said.
Trappers receive $30 for every captured gator, plus the proceeds from any leather and meat sold, the newspaper reported.
After Lane Thomas Graves was killed in June 2016, Disney installed a wall and put up reptile warning signs along waterways throughout its resorts.

Disney guests said they’re glad the resort is proactively removing gators from its properties. A biology expert agreed, adding that the removals should have a minimal impact on the Florida alligator population.

Gina Parsley, a travel agency owner, told the Sentinel that her family stayed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort last month and her 9-year-old daughter Gabriella spotted an alligator in the water. They told a campground employee and were informed that traps had been placed to trap the gator.

“We did not feel like it was a surprise to them,” Parsley said. “I would have been more concerned if my daughter had brought it to their attention and they were like, ‘Oh my gosh, where?’”
Parsley said she understands how difficult it is to keep the property free of alligators.

“You see neighborhoods where a gator just strolls across someone’s lawn and rings the doorbell,” she said. “It’s Florida: They do that. So, there’s definitely fighting against nature with that one.”
Florida’s alligator population is about 1.3 million, the newspaper reported. To be considered a nuisance within the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program, an alligator must be least 4 feet (1.2 meters) long and pose a threat to people, pets and property.

The wildlife agency has removed close to 8,000 alligators annually over the past five years throughout the state of Florida.

Removing nuisance gators from Disney doesn’t have much of an impact on the population since they’re already living on developed land there, Deby Cassill, the integrative biology associate campus chair at the University of South Florida, told the Sentinel.

“It’s already been compromised by development,” Cassill said.

I used to be a tree hugger until I’ve spent time in the tropics and subtropics of South America Since then my opinion is the following: Fuck wildlife. Fuck crocodilia. Fuck howler monkeys. Fuck the smaller thieving capuchins. Fuck spiders with their fucking huge webs. Fuck millipedes. Fuck ticks and double fuck sand lice of course (they get everywhere). Nature doesn’t give a shit about any of us. We’re just lunch. Whether or not we care for it, it doesn’t change how it see us. I’d plow it all over if there were no repercussions but it’s not pragmatic. Unfortunately, we’re connected to nature.

That being said Gators aren’t intelligent creatures, they’re cold blooded killers who’d bite your head off if they were hungry, because you twitched funny, or because it’s a Tuesday. They’ll show no mercy even if you hand raised them from eggs. So fuck them. I hope Disney kills every single one. Not just the males, but the females, and the hatchlings too. They’re animals and I hope Disney slaughtered them like animals. I hate them.

See, I feel that way about human children, especially babies. Especially since you know a kid named Lane from Nebraska probably isn't gonna grow up to do anything good anyway. Mostly just meth and beating his pregnant girlfriend in between Xbox and loitering near the local high school despite dropping out years ago.

Save the wildlife, kill the tard babies with terrible names instead. Anakin all the way (especially since killing kids is how Anakin got badass dark powers).

Anakin is based. He’s the OG. He not only killed the children of his enemies but he put his woman in her place and overthrew the inefficient and corrupt republic.

Nature is cruel; therefore we are also entitled to be cruel. Disney has the right to sends the flowers to the next family victimized by gators without remorse, does it also not have the right to eliminate thousands of the inferior reptilian vermin that eat into its consumer base (and therefore profits)?

But how do you know they were "inferior reptilian vermin"? How do you know the beings Disney killed were alligators, and not superior humans?

Did anyone ask the "alligators" what species they identified as? What if they felt more comfortable as humans?

What if the humans they identified as were not just any humans, but were humans of superior breeding to the Disney staff who killed them? Then Disney's actions would be a perversion of nature; the weak killing the strong.

Gators are superior to humans tbh, relatively unchanged badass giant reptiles that have been on earth for hundreds of millions of years vs. hairless highly sociopathic apes that have existed for maybe 1 million years but have already fucked the earth up massively, possibly beyond the point of no return

I wonder if Disney would have a similar policy if a kid dies from e coli after a pool on their property got shat in by a baby (or babyfur) 🤔

Are you saying that much like how there are no wolves on Fenris, there are no gators in Florida? Because I could actually buy that for a second.

Babyfurs should be shot before gators or fed to them. I’d pay to see that, ngl. If gators are superior than why do we kill more of them than they kill of us? They have to use sissy ambush tactics but some of our mad lads can take them barehanded.

The simple fact that Disney killed them and took their land proved that the gators were inferior.

What type of furry bullshit is this? Not only do we have humans identifying as animals we now have animals identifying as human. I can’t even.

It could be argued that Disney went against nature by killing the strong for preying upon the weak, but to continue to do so would be against Disney’s interests. If predation continued it could take a bite out of their bottom line. That Disney succeeded in killing the gators they proved their inherent superiority, even if these gators falsely proclaimed their humanity.

Because they're way less sociopathic than us. We also do way more raping puppies to death, recording it, and sharing it for other humans to jerk off to than gators.

Plus with us killing so many more gators it's only fair to let them have the occasional white trash kid, as a treat.

Disney has taken the gators land by force and therefore has the right to do to the gators as they see fit. It doesn’t matter if gators were the friendliest creatures on earth.

To be fair to humans apes and primates in general are psychotic, I mean look at the chimpanzee which practices cannibalism and genocide.

White trash can’t afford to go to Disney world, they would go to the state festival. You know what, maybe we could work something out, like feeding zoos and pedos to them. They’d probably appreciate the Cheeto dust and extra fat.

Chimps have been occasionally documented to do that shit, meanwhile humans do it daily and on a far more massive scale. Humans are basically the most sociopathic chimp traits ×a million. Even eating other people faces off, one chimp did it once after a lifetime of mistreatment meanwhile it happens all the time especially in Florida solely due to the combination of hobos and drugs like meth and bath salts.

Even eating other primates, humans do that shit too. That's how HIV probably made the jump to humans in the first place. I'm sure a Florida Man would shoot and eat an HIV-riddled monkey without hesitation if there were any monkeys native to Florida as well as probably rape it and beat his kid with it, possibly not in that exact order.

White trash might not, but McMansion dwelling Karens that are just as stupid and unfit to be parents can afford disney. Plus I could see even white trash splurging on a disney trip if they manage to get some good gibs for having a tard baby.

Pedos to zoo animals but also stupid people who refuse to properly care for their kids should be allowed to fuck around and find out even if it mean their tard ends up as gator food.

Yeah and either way the gators aren't at fault, they're just wild animals doing their thing. I distinctly remember hearing that the pond already had signs saying no swimming before the kid got eaten, plus common sense would dictate not to get too close to any body of water in gator country.
Swimming in small closed ecosystems like ponds is just not a good idea to begin with. No one should be doing it. Even without gators to contend with there's still things in there like snapping turtles, but the worst by far are the parasitic worms, snails and microorganisms like amoebas the latter of which can infect your brain and kill you, as well as the stew of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizer due to runoff from the surrounding land. Just so much dangerous shit...

ehh, I'm about 50/50
on one hand dumb tourists in the state that half the crap available to buy for tourists either features a gator on it or is literally dead gator parts like those weird gator paw medallions are pretty heavy into "breh, you should probably notice the giant monster approaching your kid"

on the other I've lived to see gators go from seriously endangered to "no, legit get off my fucking lawn you giant asshole lizard"

and it is hard to really grok the severity of the random monster encounter table that you're looking at in Florida, like I knew this chick who was four foot and change who moved down from Upstate New York (tl note may actually occur south of NYC) and she had to deal within a month of moving in with "here is a bird that is about as tall as you, and if you're luck you won't piss it off and it pecks out your eyes" and "oh yeah that's just a tropical storm, it's no biggie to go speeding up 95, gotta catch that movie lol" and she helped me to understand how disconnected we can get from the normal occurrences of life

I mean I can't say I havent done it myself, but if I die from a brain eating amoeba because of it that's just the risk I chose to take and no one should fuck up the environment because of it.

Like I really don't get what people would've expected the mouse to do if this kid died from an amoeba or drowned instead, or e coli from a leaky diaper (that said there are probably plenty of people who would be ok if Disney banned all babies with leaky diapers from their property and euthanized any that were discovered).

Why the fuck does anyone live in or want to visit Florida anyway, it feels like the inside of a hot asshole most of the year and like 2/3 of the population are methheads, hobos, serial killers, chomos, half dead, or some combination there of, and its slowly being reclaimed by rising sea levels anyway. Gators are one of Floridas only redeeming qualities.

The parents were idiots. Shame they didn’t get it instead of the kid.

Chimps are almost identical to humans except for the culture and technology, they’re more or less humans in their base form. So if one thinks humans are psychotic, which we arguably are, then similar traits can and should be observed in human’s closest relative the chimps. Chimps actively plan murders of other chimps and it’s documented that they wipe out rival troops. They’ll also eat monkeys alive and can be sadistic in their killing of each other and of other animals. War and even genocide predate humanity. It’s literally something our pre human ancestors practiced in. Even ants go to war.

Humans are cruel because humans are an extension of nature which itself is cruel and unyielding. We are animals, the only thing that separates us from them is intelligence and more advanced culture. Chimps can be compassionate as well, just as humans can be, but they can be enormous assholes that rip off your dick out of a fit of jealousy.

Usually it’s the Karens which is probably why they were swimming there when they shouldn’t be. White trash that go to Disneyworld tend to be from the same state so they wouldn’t be dumb enough to swim in random water.. unless they’re drunk.

The wrong humans died IMO, the parents are at least partially at fault and in a just world they would’ve died instead. Disney probably has some fault since society is lame and expects explicit warnings on everything now. A rational person would realize swimming in brackish water in Florida is idiotic but we have to cater to the lowest common denominator. Gators are interesting animals but Disney has the right to remove them out of safety for their patrons. To be honest it makes these lines from Jurassic Park a bit ironic:

John Hammond: All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!

Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but, John, if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.
No arguments there. It’s true that the state is full of cold blooded crazed killers that’ll eat your face but it almost makes up for it by also having cool gators and snakes.

You won’t notice them if you’re in the water until it’s too late. That’s why you don’t swim in water you can’t see in Florida (or anywhere that has crocodilians that can eat you). I refuse to get in water when I’m in places that have gators, crocs, etc because they can even hide in freaking puddles. Even small ones may take a snap at your fingers or limbs. There’s also snapping turtles that can do serious damage and if you’re really unlucky bull sharks can survive in rivers, but honestly you’re way more likely to get your face bitten off by some dude on bath salts.

Florida is insane and I only expect it to get crazier as more idiots release their illegal pets there and wreck the already fucked up ecosystem even more.

oh yeah, Florida's batshit crazy
I recall chatting with some rando who was in charge of flora for one of those "When CG Dinosaurs Walk Around" shows and we were all "lol yeah for the rest of the USA that's bizarre prehistoric plants, for Florida that's Tuesday"

but yeah there's lots of reasons why anybody in Florida needs to stay the fuck out of inland bodies of water
I can think of stories of "crook dipped into a pond and promptly died" vs "crook dipped into a pond and successfully escaped" and one outnumbers the other by a damnsight

Apparently Alligator's brains are only the size of half of a tablespoon.

An alligator's brain weighs only 8 or 9 grams and would take up only one-half of a tablespoon. This lack of brain power means there is no such thing as a "nice alligator." If it's hungry, an alligator will eat anything that moves.
