There’s that HL2 dev commentary where they said a play tester, when given a choice between two paths, one that would progress and one that would be revealed to spit them back out right before the fork, continued to take the latter option for 30 minutes without realizing they were walking in a circle.

What's crazy is that I know so many people who are otherwise intelligent whose IQ somehow drops to Derich levels once they pick up a controller, and I don't mean boomers but people who I know from my life who grew up with the same video games I did.

it is so fucking tiring dude. especially since what i make is a multiplayer pvp thing, i don't have the luxury of single player games where i can just force the nigger to pay attention.

Red Bistro got to it before me and agree with him. I'm growing tired of streamers talking about fair use and believing what they are doing is okay or at least seeing how longer they can go before a slap on the wrist. Video game people or ones that go over movies(even a kill count type) are F*cking retarded to think they are in the right. Not to mention the sh*tty clickbait news channels or reaction ones that are bottom of the barrel. When more than 50% of your content isn't actually yours, can you take pride in calling it your content? If people reach out to companies or vice versa I think its cool. Even though content creators make a good amount of money through mainly ads and some sponsors, I'd love to see them charge for their "VOD". Not many "content creators" will leave the YT/twitch level. Phil doesn't know his elbow from his @sshole and always curious to hear his takes on the law.

If only you knew how bad things really are.
I never worked in game design or anything but I helped plenty of people out when they were stuck at one part of a video game and couldn't progress. In any case, more than half of my advice and hot tips usually consist of a variation of "the game is literally telling you right now on a flashing text box in the upper left corner of your screen to hold down triangle" then you know how bad things can really get.
This is the funniest shit that's happened in the vortex in months in my opinion.
Whenever I see Phil being presented to people outside of the common detractor circles, I can't stop giggling. And the context is so good too, being shown as an example of "the dumbest gamer" for which games should be made.
God, I swear sometimes I have to stop and wonder if I'm watching some sort of real-life Truman Show, but with a main character that gets shit on by everyone instead of being loved.

iunno man, spending hours programming a tutorial system and then watching people actively go out of their way to avoid even acknowledging it is pretty bad.

Trust me, I completely feel you. Just sayin' that it doesn't matter what methods you use, whether it's for singleplayer or multiplayer, whether you make an in-depth tutorial or just put "Press X You Dumb Fuck" in the middle of the screen whenever it's relevant, there will always be at least one dense motherfucker who will somehow be unable to figure out what to do and won't even try to even if there's resources in the game that explain it.

as you can see, when i ring the donation bell, the pigroach starts to Tpose and salivate
and in the "behind the scenes" room, the pigroach compulsively presses on the whaling button regardless of it's effectiveness
