At some point, Rekieta and Mignogna had a telephone conversation in which Rekieta referred Vic to a family friend of his, Texas lawyer Ty Beard.

Chupp is ludicrously incompetent and has been the subject of multiple mandamus writs because he was fucking up a case so badly the appeals court had to stop what he was doing so they'd have something to rule on, because he was going to mangle the case so badly it couldn't even be fixed on appeal. I don't think they're considering a single entity when considering liability for a tort. If the wife causes a fifty car pileup and turns someone into a quadriplegic, you can't sue the husband if he doesn't have anything to do with the accident.

Maybe not, but in community property states, debts incurred after the marriage are against the community, so whether or not you can sue the husband, he's still equally on the hook, although depending on the technicalities of the state, it might not be possible to collect against him from assets that predate the marriage.

Not that it's relevant to this case, since Monica has had the sense not to marry that simpering little marmot of a cuck, but Texas is a community property state.
